I’ve lugged this heavy vise around wondering if it’s worth anything long enough and before I put it out on the curb I figured I’d ask those with more knowledge on the subject than I if this thing has any value?IMG_1720.jpegIMG_1721.jpegIMG_1722.jpeg

If you don't want to use it, put it on Craigslist of Facebook for $40, and it will sell and go to someone who will use it.

I don't put out stuff like this on the curb, it's like chumming for vagrants; they'll continue to come by where they were successful once, and sometimes they won't restrict themselves to taking what's left out, but will consider shopping the rest of the premises if you're away or asleep. If you just want to get it to a good home, post it on Facebook for $5, and then pick the most promising applicant to receive it from the messages you get.

It's a decent user vise, but not high quality.

Looks like a version of a Chinese made vise, with the giant 6 on it. The fact that it has a logo cast into it says someone cared enough for what they were selling to put their name on it, vs most where it gets a sticker.

No who or what that logo belongs to is a different story.

-Light, red, surface rust doesn't suggest much of a vintage. It does suggest something else. I may be wrong.

Thanks to everybody for giving me your input -
Certainly appreciate you taking the time to confirm my intuition.

A friend of mine who has a workshop full of vintage tools, is swinging by today to pick it up, he’ll enjoy it regardless of its value or lack there of

OK, now I can see the logo says "SELECT". Couldn't decipher it before.

That's a nice piece of equipment, and even in its rust phase, you could tell that it hadn't been used much, just neglected.

The logo may be a stylized version of Anant, which says made in India. At any rate, it's value is in its ability to hold stuff. If you have no need to hold stuff, put it up on FB Marketplace for $10, it'll be gone soon.

Previous guess had been Anant, so it's nice to get a better view and interpretation of it. Seems obvious, now. Time to poke the web a bit more
