Nice job on the 200A CT!

I almost forgot the Col. Flea was today! but some sales also popped up, despite the first 2 not being there...

The flea was slow, and more crowded than I like and I was late (for me) to boot...

2 vendors produced and a pair of pliers each, but unusual once:

The slip joints are ectended, bent nose odd things in the jaws, and my first pair of Wilde, out of KC MO. - $2

The Plierwrench is totally different than other I own and have seen also bent nose and the tips are for crimping lugs on wire. that SS clip is a "lock" - but removable. $3

Both desperately need a soak! - that is sort of a theme today.







On to an Estate sale after one of the no-shows; did well! Tools for a buck - total! - Enders short 6 in 1, driver, partial GAM type driver and cap - i can use this - un-branded nippers with hardened reversible inserts, PEXTO No 9 snips with inlaid blades and marked for Stainless! First I have seen for SS that were not Wiss.

And last but not least, - despite me needing another hammer like I need a hole in my head - a hammer - I think post rust removal will be Stilletto, but it has a nail starter on it! I saw that and looked no further; it was mine!





Also at the estate, a display case - I think this will work for my oldest daughter who wants to display her crystal collection - I think this is also a good candidate for some LED string lights under the shelves:



And last at the Estate sale, old mostly clay poker chips - My youngest daughter expressed interest in some after using mine.



On to the last stop; A guy I've bought from many times but he has an unending turnover so its rare I don't find something:

Clamps - Cincinnati, and Malleable 2", Perfect handle driver wit no scales, Wood chisel handle, Mitutoyo divider head; - needs lock nut/screw and a Blade. For a buck I'l look for those other pieces. $5 all

I stopped at two yard sales today. Neither had much in the way of tools, but I found a big hunk of plomb at each one. The 32oz Paschall hammer head cost me 6 cents an ounce. The 3070 doe was 10 bucks, but I couldn’t resist.

Fine reading, very nice new bi-focal reading glasses and some delightful brandy snifters for a delightful tequila (like a mouthful of cotton candy). The makings of a fine evening. I remember Jimmy Snuka doing the superfly. 1941 (starring John Belushi) illustrated novel was published by Heavy Metal.​

There were three sales I wanted to check out today. The first one was a family estate sale in Walnut Creek, CA. There was a picture of a vise in the Craigslist ad that Shiftless was interested in but it had been sold before we arrived. We were apparently the only ones looking for tools as we had time to do a leisurely search through the toolbox stack.
These were a bunch of Lectrolite made Dunlap wrenches and other Dunlap tools.
We grabbed the Craftsman =v= wrenches.
Thorsen and Powr-Kraft tools
Klein Bell System lineman’s pliers from around 1950.

The second sale was a bust! We felt like we were in an episode of Seinfeld with the estate sale Nazi. We quickly bailed and moved to the last sale in Martinez. This company is sometimes a little expensive so we were pretty selective. Mostly we brought home metric Craftsman tools and an odd Crown bicycle set roll which should be a challenge to complete. The sale featured hundreds of Die Cast Cars and I spotted one I had to have at check out.
I‘m not sure why the combo wrenches were in the roll as they didn’t belong there.
The little metric combo set was cute.

A few S-K 1/4” drive pieces.
But the late model Corvair convertible was my favorite.
Mine a few years back.

compare with Carew's Patent and Todd's Patent - they all accomplish the same task, but the hardened cutting inserts are shaped differently.

Finally got around to getting this Coleman 200A fired. Its amazing that all that it needed was a new mantle and a little oil on the pump seal and voila a lantern built in 1952 is fired up and ready to go.

Had a bit of decision to make on this one as the bottom was pretty corroded and the sticker was almost gone. Paint or not to paint. I rarely, if ever do anything but clean things up, but as this one fired no problem, I decided to give the font a paint job and a new sticker. Figured it was mine to screw up.

Here is the pair I sent to Todd (Twertsy) in 2017.

I did a quick WW and still nothing on either side there. I'll get pics after my good photo lighting rises high enough (Still pitch black out there).

I think I have at least one more pair with insert jaws and I'll look for those as well and get these posted in the thread. maybe after a "bath" something faint might show?

Saturday, I went up to the city as there was one sale, this one, as it had a lot of things that would be of interest to those who enjoy this thread. As I went of the second day, I expected it to be well looked over but considering the company running the sale, I expected a lot to be left and still pretty busy. And I was right on both counts. I picked up a nice angle plate, foreign I assume as it doesn't list a maker, and a nice little wooden box. $40 for both of them. The next stop was a couple of siblings doing a final clearout of their parents house. Not much I was interested in, but I did pick up a hook pick and a book on bicycle repair and maintenance for a buck. And back on Friday, I had stopped by 3 semi-local sales and only found a pair of Xcelite needle nose, which I was given for free.

Oh, that little wooden box?

a small gauge block set. Not sure of the maker, as the label was gone. But the mark on each piece was this:

If anyone recognizes this, I would love to know who made them.

Clever bit of Norwegian design. Going to give it to my daughter to put her art supplies in to.​

Due to ice and snow on tables and pathways, etc, they had routed all the vendors to the other side of the building, which is paved, and better maintained. It's usually populated with vendors of household items, toys, clothes, and all the brand new items that makes you wonder who knocked off a Dollar Store or a truck. I usually never walk down that row. But all the regglers were saying the same thing as me: they should do this every weekend every winter. Everything was condensed, less walking.

Here’s my flea market finds for today. Handy Andy faucet repair kit box, some plomb wrenches, a dual marked breaker bar, and the ugliest proto LA ratchet I’ve seen. It must have snuck out of the factory unfinished. Everything was a buck a piece except the dual marked 5265.

I bumped a thread for you down on the VB. It's not identical to your special, but similar, and the thread has a lot of definitive later Plierench history and info.

Wow, that box looks to be in great shape.

The box and the decal gave me pause, but the guy wanted too much for me to risk moving it on to someone who needed it without me being in the red.
