Yes he does, and yes he is - I got the Starrett pliers from him today, and my > 100 year old Cheney swivel jaw anvil vise from him a couple years back.

And good for you for grabbing those! both were nice finds, and the KeenKutter was a nice price.

If you saw a guy in a German army camo jacket - lower hip length - army style day pack, camo cap, orange and black mask and a walking stick, that was me.,

Outlaw, if you are looking for air gun parts, this is a good place to start:

or, if you are willing to venture further afield, try here:
I have had real good luck with them, and shipping has never been an issue.

***** for:
@Patrickm82 for his Gerstner chest
@Catfishdan for the Hinsdale socket set
@Outlawmws for the Starrett nippers -- Mine are No. 1 (7") and the jaws are held on with two screws.

Patrick--I think your chest is an O41. If the last two digits of the lot number are 80, that's the year of manufacture. I thought at first it was made in 1991 but the round Gerstner stencil and your badge style only went to 1980.

Thanks Radar. I was just trying to date it myself. Yes last 2 are 80. Their system is very strange!!

Been working 70 hour weeks since the first of the year. Today was my 17th straight day. That ends tomorrow since we’re getting another blast of snow and I’ll keep the tankers off the road. I love this time of year for the overtime.

Earlier this week I made a delivery to one of my many regulars. Her heating oil tank is in the garage so she opens the garage for access every time we deliver. We always have a nice conversation.

As I was leaving this time, she asked me if I knew anyone who wanted to buy a car. I said “maybe”. She mentioned a price and I said I’d look. As soon as I opened the hood I told her I was interested and asked how much she’d really take. We settled on $600 and I went back over today with a new battery, an air compressor to pump the tires up to snuff and drove it home.

‘97 Buick Regal GS sedan with 87k miles, leather interior, power everything, and the Supercharged 3.8 V6.

Hit a garage sale while I was out and about. It was pretty picked over, but I did get a Blackhawk breaker bar and a cool old Hinsdale set. 3/8 drive and labeled a 13j. All the sockets are there and the crossbar. Looks like it’s just missing the breaker bar. Oddly enough, it includes a 21/32” socket. I don’t recall seeing that size in 3/8 drive.

21/32 was used by Ford for connecting rod nuts on the Model A. That is probably why it was included in this set.

And you get a **** for this pick!

GE advertising spread in a 1954 magazine. Not suggesting it provides an answer to the branding iron riddle. Nifty and timely eye candy though. :)

Went to two pro estate sales this weekend, one was a bust and they other had quite a bit of newer USA Craftsman stuff which is usually not up my alley unless seldom seen in the wild not to mention typically overpriced at pro sales. Well saw the Craftsman Professional metric flare nut wrench set essentially unused and and no price marked so ask the tool guy how much ? $12 he says and I was shocked since they had individual wrenches priced at $12, $10 and but not surprisingly they weren't moving............needless to say sold !

I've been. AWOL, and you guys have been busy!

On Friday morn, I too braved the cold and hit the sale near Provincial. And boy, was it cold! Anyway, here is what I found:
54273180856_f5ebc42be4_b.jpg
As Provincial said, the pricing at this sale was over the top. $80 for a 1/4" Snap-on ratchet? I will pass. But there was a lot of unpriced merch, and they were ready to deal when I got there, so I picked up a mixed Armstrong and Proto set of hex sockets in flying lady tin, and an almost complete set of MAC 1/4" metric impacts. And when I was picking these up, I grabbed a small box to hold them in, and low and behold, this was the box:
54273466173_26c21c4820_b.jpg
A dirty but intact Proto puller box. This is my favorite part of the day. Anyway, $20 total.

After that, little dog Pepperoni and I hit the dog park, and then headed off to another sale, which, while it mentioned tools, did not show any pics of them. But, here is what I got for $6:
54273602945_f4b361b871_b.jpg
Armstrong hex socket, small crow bar, MAC 1/4" driver and extension, misc. 3/8" drive metric hex sockets (Wright, Proto, Snap-on), MAC DBE, MAC metric combos, Armstrong rachet adaptor, MAC sockets, Armstrong wedge, Martin 8oz ball pein head. A little crustier than I usually pick up, but should clean up nicely. I will circle back on that sale today, see if there is anything I missed.

No sign of the puller to go with the box?

Not a bad morning today, 1 “indoor yard sale “ that was mainly women’s stuff but found a couple of things. Then a market place find.

YS for $7
3 Milwaukee screwdrivers
Snap on 3/4 wrench
Grill skillet
4 brand new 2 stroke oil bottles

IMG_6013.jpeg

Next was the market place buy for $45

Gerstner 7 drawer machinist box with 2 keys and some wood working stuff
Wards master 4 drawer hardware bin
Atha and un marked ball peens
Woodcraft of England cabinet driver

You **** for both of those hauls!

Wow. Just, wow. You ****, and are in the running (lead?) for best **** of the year!

The 3.8s are great engines. I don't know anything about the supercharger (or what that does in terms of engine longevity), but a $600 car doesn't usually run, let alone look that nice!

Here is my haul from an overpriced estate sale that happened to be on the way home from a trip to run the dog. If their prices don’t get a lot better tomorrow, there is gonna be a lot left.

In addition to 4 buckets and dog toys, here are the tools. Top CW, a Marples gouge, dual grit sanding pad, BAHCO Volvo made in Sweden 8” adjustable / alligator wrench combo, with a 1-1/8” total opening, Druck tire pressure gauge, not working, hammer probably made in shop class, and the dying bag from the gauge.

Nice haul. Some real neat oddballs in there. I’m having a hard time figuring out how this one was used.
