I seem to recall these lights were on sale for $20 a piece when I purchased mine. I don't think they are on sale, this seems to be the regular price if you pick them up at Costco. $25 for a 2 pack. I grabbed 2 as spares.

These are cheap, lightweight, throw away lights……… I like them and installed 9 of these in my pole barn and IMHO they are excellent for the money.

BTW! I purchased two extras just in case one failed and so far I have not had a failure.

I bought the same Costco lights for the $20 / 2 pack price. Out of 24 lights, one has some failed LEDs, and to be fair this one hangs lower than the others since it's over a bench as was whacked a few times, but I'm too lazy to replace it and I have 4 spare lights.

I’ve had these lights for a bit now and honestly, for the price, they’re great. Super bright, lightweight, and perfect for a workshop. Not the most durable, but if you’re not throwing them around, they get the job done.

I bought mine 5 years ago. 1 went pretty early. I swapped it out. All good since. I replaced the same amount of fluorescents. The Feit LEDs are brighter and use over an amp less electricity.

I bought 10 last fall. The light color overall seems decent for the price. One flickers a bit occasionally and the whole set are very sensitive to voltage drop. But for the price I have no complaints.

What happened that made you say that the lights are sensitive to voltage drop?

Before I put permanent feed to the shop I was running them from a 10awg copper 100ft extension cord. Any time I added additional load on the cord their brightness was proportional to load. Now it is just a temporary dim when I start a saw etc since I have a 100a feed. nothing offensive at this point.

So I assume you have your saw on a a separate circuit on your sub panel than the one for your lights, right?
And you can still notice a momentary dimming when your saw motor starts up?

Yep, separate circuit pulled from same sub panel.
Interesting, I have a similar electrical configuration, I have around 100ft of #2 AWG Cu THHN feeding the garage subpanel with a 90 amp breaker on the main panel.

Lights are on different breakers than receptacles.

I've never noticed that the shop lights dim when a motor is starting.

I had a feit bulb, melt and stink up the house with smoke. Glad I was home because it showed no signs of slowing down I’ve sworn them off. Life‘s too short.

A high-quality Phillips bulb with good CRI is a lot easier on my eyes.

That‘s what I expected to be the normal behavior.

Maybe I'm just being overly noticing, definitely not enough to be bothersome but enough to observe a blip of flicker. I have similar length as you with 1awg aluminum. I also have a long secondary service feeder from the pole, so that would contribute as well.

I installed 12 of these in my 600 sqft shop 7-8 years ago based on recommendations from this forum. I added 2 more shortly afterward. No failures. I've recommended them multiple times to friends & family. 10/10

I has 1 failure out of 24 in about 10 years and it may have been due to me whacking it as it is positioned lower than the others since it's over the bench.

@Mike007 , I have to make a Costco run anyway thanks for the heads up.

Dang I suppose I'll be making a Costco run also. I started stringing these along the wall in my shop. I've purchased quite a few over the years, no failures. I typically forgo all the hardware, drill a couple holes and flush mount these.

If you've already outfitted your shop and you're looking for an excuse to buy more, think: crawlspace and attic.

I just used two of them to update the terribly outdated "but I still like this" kitchen fluorescent fixture at my mom's house. It has a box and diffuser, so I ripped out the guts and hung two of these inside, them put it all back together. She loves the LED light output, and her 1980's architectural flair remains unscathed! :D

Grabbed 14 boxes today. FYI, the limit on sale is 10 so be prepared to pay the extra $5 per 2 pack over 10 units.
