Cool box score BMW!

The best tool I have found for fixing the "rumpled door edges" are tongs I made from old dead nippers and some small but stout angle:

bending Tongs.jpg

I grind the chewed up jaws until the handles are at comfortable angle; notch the angle as needed and weld.

Protip: grip some appropriate sheet metal in them before welding so they have a flat grip in use, and hold the nipper handles in a vise so it stays flat,

No, it is both too short and doesn't have the identifying details of a Blackhawk 100DS, one of which I have out in the garage.

Red, although it has seen the abuse of time. Here is a shot of the inside:

I agree with the comment about the u channel on the front doors. Something about it says not pressteel to me. Could be that it’s just a tool stand? I totally would have bought it if I came across it, don’t get me wrong. Now I’m intrigued by the maker

And here's a few I have no idea what they are.

Top prybar type tool just says Made in USA imprinted on it, Kent-Moore tweezer type tool with 9393-2 and Made in USA stamped on it, blue handle might be for a file??, Etco FT-150 (possibly for carburetor or distributor tuning?), long thin knurled bar with hook on end (broken), KD Tools 413 (can't find anything on this one), red plastic handle tool?, black tool (might be a gasket punch-has 9/16 stamped on it), unknown tool with ball pointed ends??, unknown tool with rollers and what looks like bells on either side, threaded rod with castle nut and grease fitting, mini C clamp with rod on other end, and bare steel double ended hex tool (Hong Kong). Any help is appreciated.

Hong Kong looks like a "dog bone" wrench and the 9/16 punch is for leather work I believe.

Blue handle looks like a screw starter, but not one I have seen before.

Second this. The dog bone wrench is basically an old school multitool commonly carried on bicycles and even motorcycles. This one is the Chinesium variety and likely to break with any real use.

I had a good day! not a lot of tools or GPA, but I did tag a Coleman product and a few tools, but left all the common green lanterns and dual fuel stuff behind.

Also left behind a pellet gun -a break open spring gun - I think it was .22, but no marks whatsoever. they were asking $60 and I wasn't' there for a complete unknown.

Col Flea should have been my main event, but wasn't not bad though as it did produce my top item IMO:

1943 Navy Binocs -I believe 10X, but the power is not marked. these are big though. Filthy except for the lenses and the lenese are crystal clear, and these binocs are rock steady. none of the common "shakey view" at all. I'm not sure if its just the mass or what, but I really like these. $18

FM1-Binocs-1.jpg

FM1-Binocs-3.jpg

And an oil can piggy bank. that was it for the Flea! A buck.

FM2-oil-can-bank.jpg

I found nothing at the next two YS's - The Estate sale was a much larger haul.

Router box full of craftsman bits, quite a few are carbide, NOS Coleman No. 0 aluminum funnels, but on one end needs a little gule but complete, fishing lures and flies and 2 bobbers, small file handle, Ford wrench, Long C 1/4" drive socket, similar era but unmarked breaker, 2 Proto wrenches, a General scriber, and a SS 1/4 drive ratchet head adapter.

1-CM-bits-Ford-CM-Proto-Gen-SO-Fish-lurs-CM-funnel.jpg

And a box of made in USA brushes, mostly stiff nylon, but some SS and brass. Most were in the box, I grabbed 3-4 more from a drweer somewhere.

ES2-brushes-1.jpg

How manny? A bakers dozen SS and brass each, and 39 of te stiff nylon. Total for the ES was $25

ES3-brusshes-39-13-X-2.jpg

And last YS: $2 for a gas coupleing I think I use this size on one of my prop tanks - and a tube of Hexamine tabs:

The "mini c clamp with rod on other end" and "unknown tool with ball pointed ends??" go with the starrett indicator. They are accessories. The c clamp is for mounting to stuff, then the indicator screws into the clamp or you unscrew the rod on it and use the rod that is on the c clamp currently. The see-saw thing with ball point ends allows you to measure smaller holes and bores that the indicator wouldn't fit inside.

Local online auction finds.
Stanley #982 corner and joist brace. Seems to be in pretty good shape, the chuck is gummed up and needs cleaned up.
Two tenon cutters, neither one has any markings i can find. But i haven't cleaned them up yet, so there may something hiding there.
The last thing I'm not really sure what it is. It seems like it would sharpen something, but the file piece is at right angles to the slot. Maybe to just flatten an edge?
All this $7.00

@bbbarracuda the file thing is a saw jointer, used when sharpening a saw whose teeth are rough, used to even the height of the teeth. The cone shaped tool is a spoke pointer, used to taper the end of a piece of wood before starting the tenon cutter. Nice finds.

The file piece is probably for jointing a hand saw. That is it makes all the saw teeth the same height. You put the blade in the slot and run the file across the teeth.

I was going to say that's a good price on the $10 Wilton, until he said you had to take it off. :lol_hitti
Is this like strip-picking? Sounds like

-hinged hook tool at the top is a dust cap and hub cap puller.

-bottom tool with two knobs could be a tailpipe edpander. Just a guess by the look.

-star wrench may be for drain plugs on certain Olds models

-black tool is a hole punch (arch punch)

-blue handle wrench is for distributors I believe

Edit: - threaded part with grease fitting and castle nut may be from a bearing packer.

i found a sale in Oakland less than 20 minutes away and with my co-pilot still on the mend I try to stay close to home. It ended up being quite productive and there were a variety of brands besides the usual Craftsman stuff. IMG_0530.jpeg

There were two sales of interest today in town, and once I had breakfast I made my way over to them.
54313500734_66a01688a7_b.jpg
From the second sale I went to: Stanley screwdriver, long spade bit, Dunlap ratchet. From the first sale (a sale I realized I had no money in my pocket, and so had to go out, hit the machine, and go back): boxed tap set, Snap-on socket, Par-X wrench, vinyl holder for taper pin reamers, drill gauge (wharehouse manufacturing, never heard of them), Craftsman auto punch, and this:
54313594915_ffd3b87df0_b.jpg
a small Presssteel roller, I think. It has all the hallmarks of one, the right type of casters, lip around the top, etc. But no markings that I have found. Anyway, I don't need it, but it was cheap.

After hitting the sales, I went to the local used bookstore, as I had books to bring in. I have plenty of credit, but you always need more.

Voltaire's Candide, 1928. African Game Trails, Roosevelt 1910. Don Quixote, Cervantes 1902.
BMWRDO. congratulations! I think this is Bonney roller!

So after a nap (i stayed up WAY too late last night) I did first round cleanup of the Navy binoculars. and found the magnifications markings! I was surprised to see "only" 7X50. They seem stronger. I've not started cleaing the leatherette wrap but the metal and Bakelite parts. Not that surprised to seen a ton of nicotine coming off these parts. the Bakelite eye pieces were cleaned with Dawn Ultrawash 3-4 times, then went into a small ultrasonic cleaner for more of the same - 3 more times before the cleaning solutions stopped coming out brown.

The plates with the markings got the Dawn Ultrawash, leaving then a little dull but clean then a pass wit mothers to try to shine them a bit. Then all of the above got a wipe with Mineral oil. not perfect but decent.

The Eye piece lenses were pretty gunked, so I soaked them in lens cleaner and gently wiped with B&L lens wipes. SWMBO will do the final cleaning as she is the camera/lens person in the house.

I still need to get into the details with Q-tips and the like, and the "hinge" that let the eye spacing happen is almost immobile (I had to "bend" it on a table edge at the Flea to even get close to being able to test them) but I'm happy with progress:

After:

After-1.jpg

After-1a-markings.jpg

I'm really happy with the performance of these, and they will become great vehicle Binocs, but they are not going to become everyday carry at 3lbs!

I reckoned those were 7X 50--7 times magnification and a fifty-millimeter front optic--as that was pretty standard for Navy binos. Kinda' incredible light-gathering ability--you really can see in the dark with them.

Individual eye focusing was a little inconvenient for anything but marine/astronomy uses.

How's the alignment (collimnation)? Can you see a single image out of them?

Quite good actually! I was out looking at the moon, Space Station Freedom, and a couple of planets before dinner.

I actually like the individual adjusting Eye pieces. Not a big deal to adjust, and simplified the mechanical a lot. On hunting hikes - "still hunting" - I've had the two focused for two differnt basic ranges so i didn't have to fiddle.

I found where they modded the Mod 35's to 9X and called them a Mod 37, and I could swear I've seen 10X Navy Binocs. but clearly these are not them.

I forgot to post a Comparison Pic the Mod 35's to my M13 A1's:

You can submerge binoculars in the ultrasonic without causing damage?

The 10X and up--to 20 X 150+--I've seen were binnacle-mounted. Hard enough to hold a 10X by hand on firm ground.

I'm a mite bit trepidacious about Bakelite in the ultrasonic--it can eat glass, but ours is kinda' beefy.

This was SWMBO's small jeweler unit and a minute at a time. I WAS watching for any issues for sure.

it was just the Bakelite screw on/off "eye gards"

Totally agree! I have one pair of 12X binoculars, but they are 12X50, and Reverse Porro Prism by Nansei Koki Seisakujo. Inc, branded Focal. Longer, but not really big. 21 oz. I like those quite well also. And a 10X Moncular that is Porro Prizum - even at half, still big...

Good Call! It is definitely a Bonney CC10, down to the remains of the sticker on the front and the odd trim on the doors!
Dang, i even saw the sticker outline but then again, i was thinking it was a vintage, non correct sticker like a vintage stp sticker or something similar. Glad you got it id'd! That's not a common box

Yes, it is. Lugz and i have one.

Here is one pic of the business end.

This gets you to here if you are patient

Red tool looks like a Bell System tool, without seeing the business end.

A quick trip to the flea market netted me a 4 dollar handful of tools. Another plomb 1210, snap on ignition wrench, and a broken artisan 3/8” ratchet. I think I can fix it up with some spare sk guts.
On the wayhome I stopped at a garage sale and grabbed a vintage bmw motorcycle tool kit. All the tools are marked heyco west germany except the pliers and the screwdriver, which are ****. IMG_0120.jpeg

One of my finds from yesterday seems to be near a FOIK, here or on the Net - -SO MV67 - I found an old for sale/sold for one in classifieds, Apparently it was replaced with a TM67 from SO? only one of those ever posted here either, but they show on the net, if only a few. 1/4" ratchet adapter 20 tooth, so not exactly "fine tooth"!:

Yesterday, a map measure with pouch and instructions, free on Kijiji. Going to be fun trying to clean that up.
1000001346.jpg

Today, a local flea market. Left to right, a punch (so I can stop using a nail), a Trimo wrench that had a nifty bit next to the wheel, a Gray wrench so old it's a Gray-Bonney, and a nifty-looking oil can. Not free, prices in $Cdn, probably more than I should've spent but it's been a long... everything.
