Craftsman =v= Impact Sockets

Hey everyone, first time posting.
I've used Garage Journal and Alloy-Artifacts a lot for research and entertainment lately and I love it all.
On to my question..
I've recently picked up a few Craftsman 1/2" Drive Impact sockets with the =v= stamps on them off ebay. I thought they were really cool as I've never seen them before.
I can't seem to find anything online that would help me find out what a full set of these would have looked like.
I assume there might be a catalog scan somewhere, but I do not know where to start.
Hope for some info, and thanks for any help!

Those appear to be mid to late 1960s impact sockets. They would have come in a small carry tray like the one you see here in the 1966 Craftsman power and hand tools catalog.

Oh cool! Well if these are the same ones then it looks like I have all of the sockets from this "set". Thank you for the quick investigation

FWIW, I have a -v- set. Ten shallow SAE sockets, 7/16 - 1", in a handled tray.

There's a full set on eBay right now. Not-V- . It's the GK series which js USA and it's insane money.

What about the Metric? Did they ever release a metric set? I've been looking around and I can't find anything about a =V= series metric impact set

In 1966 the catalog only shows 3 types of impact sockets, none of which are metric. Someone here said that they recall buying a metric =V= series impact set in the very late 1960s. Post #1 here carries the oval impact stamp found on 1960s Craftsman impact sockets so while we know that these sets exist, it's safe to assume that the production count was low.

The earliest known metric impact sets carry the =V= series stamp along with the oval "IMPACT" stamp just like in the very first post in this thread.

Ahh, ok. I misunderstood you. So it's just going to be very hars to find a metric set thats =V= series

I don't remember which member remembers buying a late 60s metric impact set brand new but I know that I read it somewhere on this site. What I can tell you is that we don't see metric impact sets in any of the tool catalogs of that era. I can also tell you that they are not easy to find. In all the years I have been rummaging through flea markets and garage sales, I've only seen a few of these sets. I bought an unused set about 30 years ago and have since given that to my father. He uses them on farm equipment.

I'm collecting some tools for my mechanic class and to do stuff on my own as well. I just love the vintage craftsman because of quality and feel. I'm 18 so I got a lot of time to be able to find that set someday 🫠
