Could be garage-related... I want to retrofit some base kitchen cabinets with fixed shelves to drawer slide shelves. The depth is non-standard, so I'll be making my own drawers. There's a bewildering array of slides available and I'm leaning toward heavier capacity (in case kids climb on them) of 200 lb capacity. Like these: https://www.amazon.com/SLIDEWAY-Ext...g-Cabinet/dp/B0C8SBR6K9/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Shelf will be aprox 26" wide x 17" depth. Any recommendations on slides appreciated.

2 choices: cheap off brand, or name brand.

My kitchen and bath got Knape and Vogt soft close. I also used to buy a 28" heavy duty slide from them, 500lb IIRC, for a product I sold. Never had a failure.

I've bought some cheap ones for the shop and other things here and there, I just look for strong, consistent feedback.

I bought one set of 60" slides from Vevor, they've held up a drawer in my truck for 3 years with no issues, but they are no longer sold it looks like.

When I worked for bank, about 1990, I was tasked with replacing the slides they used to replace the slides on the Tellers Coin Drawers. they had been replacing those sides once or twice a year.
I ordered premium quality Ball Bearing Slides, my boss questioned why I had bought those slides rather than the cheap ones they had been using in the past, a year later those expensive slides were still working as good as they were the day they were installed.
The labor saved, because of the long life of the slides, more than made up for the extra material cost.

I like Blum slides.

Go for soft close, no matter what brand you get. It’s nice not listening to your drawer of pots and pans slamming closed.

My kitchen has side mounted cheap-ish drawer slides that I have retrofitted with soft closers. There are an array of useful plastic spacers available to get clearance for the drawer off the cabinet sides.
