Looking for similar information. Tool access and minimum space when not working.

Nothing like a new box! I love organizers. I’m interested in some of the newer 3d printed stuff but don’t have a 3d printer. If any of you have any cool 3d printed organizers where’d you get it done?

As for organizers, Op how do you like yours to be setup? For example I have the earnest socket boss system because I like being able to take a single rail off and take it with me and the sockets don’t fall off. Others never need that and Hansen pegs work well. VIM mag rails are neat but expensive. Before investing in a an organization system give some thought to how you want it to work for you

How do like it set up? Ok, being honest here, I typically work from pile to pile. Ieave tools where I last worked on them. I'm really trying to change but I've never really had a good tool box or enough space to put everything, so there has always been something layed down where ever.

How do I like it set up?...... by someone else who is organized to be honest.

I’ll have to get some pictures for you. I place the most used tools at easier to reach parts of the box. Pliers, sockets/ratchets, wrenches, and screwdrivers at about waist level. Then larger heavier items lower and items like taps/dies, files, punches, and so forth up higher. There is a “show your toolbox thread that will give you some great ideas.
*Edited to add pictures*
I have a KR660 that I plan to clean up and replace the snap on KR655. I need more room for my sockets and ratchets.

Nice Kobalt tool box. I’m still using my old Craftsman 26” wide stack. I’ve tried to organize my drawers for maximum storage. Here are a few examples of my drawer set ups.
This looks awesome! I love the level or organization.

I also am still using older/well used Waterloo-Craftsman 26" roll boxes and a Waterloo 22" top.
Built a work bench around these boxes, to better serve my needs...

Drawers are all labeled, makes it easier to have a friend find things if needed, without being confused.

For tool organizers I am using some homemade, packaging tools came with, also some I purchased.

Wrench drawer as bad as it looks has all metric on the left, fractional is on the right.
My primarily used ratcheting combo wrenches are mounted above the top box on a magnet for easy access, metric and fractional...

Another work bench is at the back of the garage, it has a bench grinder and a vise attached to it.
It houses things less used, ratchets I have retired, and also specialty tools all kept in their cases. All of them I wrote on the side of the case what tool it contains.

All of the electrical stays in a plastic toolbox, for house electrical I keep it all in one canvas bag.
Basically grab and go...

Of course this is not all of the tools, just the ones primarily used.
