Excellent work. I admire your enthusiasm and commitment to hard work in pursuit of your dream. I wish you every success in your business and hope it provides you many years of profitable, enjoyable work.

The few samples of your work (Mercedes in particular) show you are very skilled and talented.

It's definitely a project. People are to eager to knock something down but the real joy is finding a use for the space you already have. Like your progress so far.

Thank you very much for those kind words! I'm really happy, that there are people around the world who somtimes understand us more than our close friends, and wishes us best. That's amazing.

I hope that this topic will show that $$$ is not always everything to accomplish a project - we're doing this thing in 3, sometimes 4. Everything on or own. And i'm proud of every inch of this place already. It can only get better

Looking really good!

Go go go.
I love detailing too :)

Nice work so far! Subscribed. :)

Thanks!

Thank you very much! You're absolutely right - moving in already prepared and fresh place is something completely different. Our way gives (I belive) more satfisfaction.

Update!

Today we got our yesterdays shopping spree delivered - 2.800kg of stuff. Yupp, that was a good wake up for us two.

Our tiles and tiles glue, some other stuff as well.

dsc0291dvdpal.jpg

Quick preview of car space - floor will be checkered where cars will be detailied, 3x5 meters probably. I LOVE IT ALREADY !

dsc0287dvdpal.jpg

Lamps are hanged on chains, mainly because i wanted them to be like that :)bounce:) and to have more light on car of course. I mixed cold and warm lights to give our place possibly most "daylight" taste. Photo taken with gate closed tight.

dsc0302dvdpal.jpg

And of course, we had to try our tiles - walls will be covered 120cm high to take eventual splashes. Tomek's dad made our day.

Before

dsc0304dvdpale.jpg

After

davasafd.jpg

That's it for today - we've also made our chimney higher to prevent heat from our roof, washed a lot of stuff which we are not going to use any more to take it away in next days, to make place cleaner and a lot of other stuff, basically we're working there between 10 and 13 hours a day.

I'll try to post something tommorrow, then there will be a 10 day break, because I'm going on short tour with my band. Tomek will be doing pictures during this time and I'll post them as soon as i'm back.

Stay tuned!

Update - today we went to IKEA market and bought some furniture. We also set everything ready for tiles-week and... I'm leaving for 10 days. Guys will have to go one without me for this time, i'm sure that they can handle that.

I just wanted to share with you Guys, that i'm unbeliveably happy that my both dreams are coming true - everything goes well with studio, and i'm going on european tour with my band - 10 days, 11 gigs.

Ukraine - Romania - Bulgaria - Macedonia - Greece

Wish me luck!

I'm BACK!

Cashishift - I was touring with one of my 3 bands/projects. Called Keira Is You, where we do post rock alternative music. It was awesome, hundrets of stories to tell.

Anyway, we've made another huge progress - guys did a lot when I was away. I also came back right to work, so here's where we at right now! Closer each day!

We've already made the drain in the end of the floor and pipe under to get the water to the tank.

132b.jpg

133wa.jpg

Also a nice suprise - our neighbour, who has a man cave just next to our place, gave us a "starter" package for opening. Very nice from him, and i love those tools!

1314.jpg

Ceiling is painted twice already, white as snow! Today we've painted the walls for the first time, tommorrow we'll paint the 2nd layer, in next few days i'll paint two (black and red) stripes around the whole place.

135x.jpg

Tiles are almost all over the place except the water tank place - we're still waiting for it so we'll cover everything else and then just finish that spot. He're working on fugue - took some time.

Here are some overall shots - excuse the mess guys, but we're workin on it and there will be a lot cleaner in few days, when we will do the dropped ceiling in the bathroom, so we can take a lot of stuff and tools away.

UPDATE

Hi guys!

Things are going well - we're working really hard right now to get things started. I love how the work goes now, every day you can clearly see a progress.

We've made really a lot till now. What we have left to do is to paint the stripes on the walls, finish the floor (about 120 tiles to lay) and fugue everything, put the water tank inside the trench and secure it, fix the water and lead it thru the place, and many others. But i think we're going to make it with in about 2 weeks. I hope so!

Quick preview:

Walls almost finished, just waiting for the stripes and few decorations

Overall look, excuse the mess, but i LOVE the way it came out!
Paint still wet, but i cannot let this thread go unupdated ;)

Thank you! Siemianowice Śląskie lays in Silesian Conurbation in southern Poland

just watched a video on youtube for the song "madness" is that you in the video? Well anyway, your music is great.

That video was made without me, I joined the band after it was filmed. We have recorded a new material which is 10 times better than what you can hear on myspace or else, it will be published in few weeks I hope.

I'm more in punk rock/pop punk/metalcore, that is sideproject where i realise myself as a bassist. Here's a sample if you're interested ;-) Everything played and recorded by me and friend of mine.

You are officially the world's greatest commercial tenant. ;)

Beautiful.

Hahaha, thanks! Our "landlord" already said that he wants to move in our place, he can't look at his own right now, when there's something like this to compare :)

UPDATE

We're closer each day - today i took a shot, and decided to give you Guys a little help to better know how our place looks. After long day of work we... cannot wait till tommorow!

+

I forgot to put a photos! :) Here's a couple during painting the wall stripes, and overall stuff in red.

Waiting for paint...

Looks great & love the video-especially at the end-totally agree:bowdown:

Do you have any details on the tiles? I think I recognise the makers name & logo as something we can get here in England. Be good if I can source them to use on my garage floor, the product code information as on the labels would be great!

That was a great gift from the neighbour-most of my stuff is Teng & I am very pleased with it. I have the odd Snap-On piece but for my amateur use the Teng does just fine.

Keep the updates coming!

Thank you, i'm glad you like it! :bounce:

'Bout the tiles - brands name is "OPOCZNO", here's a multi-lang website. If you're interested in our model specific, I can check the details. Those are very cheap, available in light gray and sand colours, they cost like 3,85£ for 1 square meter here. They have only one problem, they're not 30x30 or 33x33cm, but 29,7x29,7cm, it makes it quite difficult when you want to use them with 30x30 tiles as we did on checkered area - but nothing is impossible

I also like those tools, still unpacked, waiting for a clean shelve to be placed ;)

QUICK UPDATE

WE HAVE THE WATER!

Today we've finished leading water thru our place (till today there was a improvised hose in "shop" wall). We also did all the pipework in toilet, floor is poured and tiles are in. I think that in two or three days we will install the water heater and enjoy hot water for the first time.

We're still waiting for the water tank, that's the only thing keeping us away from bringing the furniture and machines inside, because there will be a lot of dust and plaster in the air while installing it in the trench and we don't want to mess everything up. Hopefully it will be delivered this week.

I have already painted the stripes all around the place, waited so long to bring colour in :)
88850785.jpg

52695561.jpg

We also made this crate to cover the trench and water tank inside. It will be welded to the metal sides with a metal sheet under it, then covered in plaster and tiles just as the rest of the floor - belive me, you can roll a tank over it, it won't bend :) We'll just make one tile movable, to have acces to the tank.

Been following this thread from the beginning - looks totally amazing. I moved my business to a new location last year and also did some renovating, but nothing like this - gives me motivation to do more work at my place!

Your shop transformation is awesome! Doing the work yourself makes it extra special. Having the vision to transform a space others think is not salvageable is a gift. You've made it happen. Congratulations. (We took over 3 years with our Restored 1930's Auto Shop, so I'm impressed with the speed of your work. Take a peek if you have any spare time.)

Hi there and thank you very much! I like your place as well, don't be so harsh about it!

About the light - we have 6 of those 2x36W lamps as overall light. For work we have two 500W lamps and 150W lamp for interiors and smaller work areas such as wheels and stuff.

Totally awesome. What a transformation.

Thank you! I plan to do compare photos, before and after from same angle, I think it will show this transformation fair enough :)

Haha, I belive this is how it works - I was also motivated to work things out by going thru so many threads on GJ. I think there are some more visible influences, like checkered floor, "fire dept. red coloured" stuff etc. which I also got from my passion to American cars, garages and workshops. I'm very proud that our place can be a motivation for somebody, i really appreciate your comment!

MusicMan.

BIG thanks - it's little to early to accept congrats, but i promise that in next weekend we're gonna finish this place clean and ready to work! ;)

I've seen your project many times, I absolutely love it! I'll check it again asap, just to be "on date" with everything, i just don't sit on computer right now very often. I'm also suprised with how short it took us to do this - don't get me wrong, we're exhausted as hell and tired of all the material which we have inside out, but as totally non-pros in such a works, I think we made it good enough to not be ashamed of anything.

Guys, I have great announcement to make...

... WE'RE DONE! :)

Two days ago we had a small opening party, i'm so happy that we've finally made it!

Sorry for lack of updates for last month, it's been a really tough time for us, so many problems, so much stuff not delivered on time, so many complications. I was not able to take as many pictures as i wanted, but i've tried to catch most of the more important changes, i hope that this oversized post will be enough, but if you guys have any questions about anything particular, feel free to ask! :)

I also did a video today to give you a look inside our freshly opened place - thanking you guys for support and good word!

Here we go with the photos - i have so many to post, a lot of them are on our cellphones, i'll try to update this post as fast as possible, but anything you see on the photos is finished in the video at the end, so go and have a look

Congratulations Music Man,

What you have acheived is awesome, great job. Make sure to keep us posted with pics of any "interesting" cars that come through and or of any special makeovers. We garage guys are also car nutters as well and love perving at special vehicles and getting tips on detailing etc. Again, though well done. Brilliant job. Now enjoy the moment and have fun in your business.

:)

ZenMoto - are you somehow connected with Line6 or just a user? I have flextone III and ux2 and i love them![/QUOTE]

Hey, sorry so slow to respond, was offline for a while. ...I am the industrial designer for Line 6; been here for a little over 10 years now. Glad you're enjoying the gear, the new HD series and the new DT50 amplifier have raised the bar significantly; you should give them a try if you get the chance (and I'm normally a bit of a tube snob). :lol_hitti

Great job on your shop/studio! The transformation is most impressive and I wish you guys thebest of luck in your new business!!!
