Hi All,

Just got a 1966 Saylor-Beall air compressor, and I plan on cleaning it up a bit and using it around the shop. See below for pictures!

I’ll probably have to add a pressure relief valve, a pressure cutoff switch, and I may re-wire for 220. I plan to draw on your guys’ knowledge for some help - I’ve never worked on an older compressor before.

The pump is an older Harbor Freight, but the motor and most everything else seems original. Everything works and it holds at least 50 psi.

Yep, I have more of a Frankenstein air compressor I guess! No worries. It was $150. The pump works just fine. I just got some fittings and a pressure regulator from Milton.

I need to replace the hose that goes from the pump to the fitting on the tank. It
looks like a radiator hose…! And it’s slightly leaking. Aside from copper or braided steel, are there any other materials I should be considering?

Additionally, need to figure out if this pressure switch still works. I think it’s pretty interesting that the instructions say “printed in USA”.
