Here a few new f80s I got. I put the green handles on them today, they are alittle to big for the ratchets, but feel very good. How often do you guys use the bent handle flex heads?
I just know I can't stand my soft grip ratchet and would trade it in a millisecond for a normal polished handle, but hard handle might be nice too.
I asked my snap on dealer if she had hard handles to replace my soft grips on my flex ratchet and she said they can't do that. Whats the story on this?
I have a FHNF100 and want a green hard handle. Do i just give my truck guy the part number shown on page 1 of this thread? When i get it, what do i do? What size drill bit do i drill with? What kind of epoxy, if any, should i use? How do i remove the soft grip?
Can someone create a hard handles for dummies DIY?
Awesome, thanks. The link Infidel posted will take you to the HH list. Look for the post by Zrexxer. The handles are numbered. You want a #2 for a 3/8" drive. The new replacement HH in size #2 is going to be slightly larger (the original handle used on ratchets was more slender than a screwdriver handle) but not by much. I don't really notice the size difference when compared to an original.
No epoxy required. The shank has tangs on it that bite into the handle.
You really need (IMO) a dial caliper to do this correctly and not scrap out a new handle. Measure the shank diameter and pick a drill slightly smaller. I think I used a "S" letter drill. Your results may vary.
Search for threads. The information is here.
