My house is still being built and I'll be in there in about a month. I caught a great sale at Sherwin Williams and bought some grey and some darkish blue paint for the garage. My initial thought was blue from the floor up to about waist height, then grey for the rest. Should I buy another color and do a thin stripe along where the two colors meet?

Can you guys help me out and post some photos of garages with grey/blue themes? Or help me out with suggestions? I really appreciate it.

I also decided on doing epoxy on the floor. Haven't picked a brand/type/color yet.

Here is how the garage will look once we move in. They don't finish it for whatever reason. I apologize for the quality of the photo.

Mine has a tall foundation that is gray. The trim between the foundation and the drywall is blue. The drywall is white. Sorry I don't have a better picture......

My walls are battleship gray right now and it is too dark, I'm repainting them white in the hopes that it lightens it up. I am leaving the gray at the bottom and breaking them with a blue stripe.

I agree, be careful not to make it too dark. That's why I went with the white pegboard section.

Wow! Thanks for the suggestions fellas! I quoted this one because I really like it!

I'm horrible with colors (you should see what I show up to work wearing sometimes). I am now wondering if this would be a good combo - similar to the scheme in the quoted photos - blue on the bottom, a little taller though, thin stripe of black to separate then the rest of the wall grey?

Thanks again for the input.

Whipped this up in MS Paint

When I first read the title I thought: color schemes? Is this "Better Homes and Garages"?? :bounce: But I guess there's no harm in making something look good!

****! Mine was dark grey and I repainted it white too - then I thought: DAMN, should have left the bottom grey!!! Too late for me....guess I'm not as smart as you were!

Sorry, my wife has been in "design mode" since we signed the sales contract for the house. It must have transfered over to me somehow haha! I just want a really nice, clean look with a little style/ life to it that isn't a bland color but not overwhelming. I could have sworn I saw a Porsche owner's garage with a similar color set up and it inspired me.

The other idea was to make the garage look like an English pub sort of deal but I don't want to do that. I'll have a bar in the house.

Your wife will decorate the garage for you no matter what you tell the contractors. You will just have to live with some sort of pink color.
:lol_hitti

My choice would be light gray on the lower walls. Blue trim and stripe with gloss/satin white walls. You want all the diffused and reflected light you can get.
