Hi,
Have this Air Pump on a DeVilbiss Vert. 80 Gal. 5 HP Air Compressor...

Works fine but parts are sketchy now at about 25 years old.

Looking for a Quincy pump on FB to rebuild and replace it with, but wondering how these DeVilbiss made aluminum Air Pumps rep was???

Looks like this...

I assume they had Cast Iron Bores?

If it, "works fine" why not just do some preventive maintenance on your pump and keep using it? If it currently is producing the flow and pressure it should is there something else going on with it?

Hi,
Yes that is the plan is to use it, but I am now retired and using it more and wondering how long it will last?

Looking for a Quincy Pump to rebuild and have it in cue, so to speak if needed.

Not seeing a lot of parts for this Air Pump and it has been replaced with a newer Model by DeVilbiss.

Just wondering if these Aluminum Pumps held up???

Thanks!

I had one like ( or very, very similar)to that one. The only problem with it was the reed valves. The only way I found to service them was to replace the complete valve plate and both gaskets. First two times was about 125 bucks per. One the third failure, no parts were available. But, it had a lot of use when I got it providing air for some large CNC mills. And my use included HVLP spraying and sand blasting. So lots of run time.

This is an ABAC pump from Italy. There may be parts still available if you can nail down the exact model.

I don't have any perspective to offer you on the longevity of your existing pump. If you have knowledge of how many hours it has been run; if it has been serviced on a regular basis; has been run in a clean or dirty environment; those factors may provide some meaningful background.
Rebuilding an industrial air compressor pump is pretty simple. I rebuilt a Saylor Beall pump a few years ago to pretty much new condition for hobby use. I believe it will outlive me. So, find a used industrial / commercial pump such as Quincy or the like and start a new build thread here.
