Lawnmower maintenance day. Been a few years on the trans fluid, 4qts of 20/50 oil and a filter. Oil and filter, air filter, sharpened blades and grease.
This retirement stuff is putting me ahead of schedule.

Had to replace a couple of Toro 570 sprinkler heads in the yard. Rather than dig a huge hole I just unscrewed the head and hoped the dirt wouldn't collapse into the T-fitting. The best way to install these heads is to screw the housing in, flush the line and then install the sprinkler guts facing in the right direction. Couldn't find a Tool to tighten just the housing so I made my own. No way I would remember what that stub of a shovel handle was for so it got a label and is stored in the same cabinet as all the sprinkler system replacement parts.

I have two vintage tanker desks...
Spent the day out in the garage with tools, disassembling one desk, into smaller / lighter parts...
I'll be hauling all the pieces upstairs and reassembling back into a tank...
It's just too big and too heavy to get it upstairs as a single unit...
Looking forward to having my own space to do stuff...

For some reason, reminds me as a kid, using methyl ethyl keytone by the gallon to clean the shop floor at work. Its a wonder us old guys don't all glow in the dark. Just ramblin...
When I was a pinsetter mechanic I used to wash up to my elbows with trichloroethane daily. It was a great degreaser to clean the lane oil off the belts.

Cleaned up the garage, and assembled the stool I made.

Thinking of writing off painting the stool base since it looks good as is.

Just need to weld on a footrest, get my backrest pad, and it'll be done.

Love your fab bench.

For me, my new rod clamp came in. This one seems to hold on much better. Now I need to order a second one and the actual rod holders.

Started the finger joint part of a few storage boxes for the neighbor’s RV.
Their cabinet contents get completely mixed together during some off their forest road travels.

Repaired one of the good ole HF giveaway lights. Stupid battery leaked.
Had to include a pic since I brought out my 70’s vintage point file.

Well, hello beautiful. My big doors haven't been opened since last fall.

Today's project is to make a chute from some old ductwork I did not throw out, for this walk behind bagger. I want to cut my use of the Cub Cadet by about 50% as part of my, "get fit, before the dust gets bit", plan. But you know what they say about plans. Have a good day all.

A RWB 6th gen, and an orange. I like it. I miss my orange dude.

Got the radiator, and alternator swapped on the Toolbox Truck. There were some torque multiplier words spoken, but overall not too bad. It seems happy now. The belt tensioner kickstand on the Donor Truck failed me, so now have to figure out how to get the belt back on the alternator. I'll deal with that tomorrow.

Changed the oil in the pump for the pressure washer.

More sanding.

Got the foot rest done, and about half of the first chair. Started to rain, so I packed it in for the day.

Messed with my new hidden Bluetooth radio for the car. Temporary setup on the bench. The only visible part is the little buttons and knob, and that’s optional. Can be controlled from an iPhone app.

Now that I know that it works, I can work on getting it installed.

I made a plumbing mess in the garage on Thursday after replacing a pull out hose in the shop sink faucet, the faucet went from leaking while the water was running to dripping all the time when closed.

I tried taking the faucet apart and faught with the set screw handle until I finally freed it but in the process created a leak at the shut off from tilting the laundry sink to see the set screw.

I decided to give it a rest for a couple of days.

Today I finished looking at the faucet. I cleaned up the cartridge and mating surfaces. I put the faucet back together and removed and reseated the shut off valve.

And there was much rejoicing, hot and cold running water in the garage and no leaks or drips.

Got sidetracked with my ‘ADHD’ yesterday but did take the swivel casters from the steel rack base to put on my red Toolbox stack then cut out the 1/8” plate bottom of said steel rack base for other projects. Needed to stock up on 4.5” cutoff wheels To boot.

BUT I DID find my missing Milwaukee cordless grinder, removed the guard and put it away in the Milwaukee drawer of the box and a half.

I HAVE to get the brake pedal linkage done today!

I cheaped out and didn’t buy a dustproof VFD for my new-to-me cabinet saw. Even despite having to buy a filtered/vented enclosure, I still saved money. The only problem was that I needed a 7-1/4” depth box to fit the vfd, so, assuming the stated dimension was an inside and not an outside depth, I ordered this 11x17x7.5 box. VFD didn’t fit, knob won’t come off, and the removable control panel would have to be desoldered to relocate to the door.
Today, I rooted around through all my **** looking for some sort of flanged window that would add a precious quarter inch. Nothing.
BUT! In my headlight box (What!? You don’t have a box o’ headlights?) I found this stainless steel 5x7 headlight trim! A quick nibble of the door, a little shave here, a little plexiglass there, a wipe of clear silicone, BAM, more room and a view!

Put this section of rack up. Going to move some of my mustang parts onto it. In the hopes of getting motivated to work on it. Hopefully next month I am not posting that I took the rack down and show a picture of how organized my mustang parts are stored in the basement again.

I need to do the same except that I have scissor trusses. Are you going with blown in insulation? Cellulose?
Spray foam.
I bought a cheap drywall lift when it went on sale. My ceiling is 12’8” and it only went up to 11’. So I machined some inserts to press into a tube 2’ long as an extension and used that to hold them. The lift also tilts and would work perfectly for your vault.

Pretty slick idea!
I had some of those trim rings from an old 4Runner I used to own. I tossed em. After seeing yours, there’s a couple things I could have used them for!!
