Months ago I was told they were working on this issue and it's still not fixed. I have to manually look click on your threads button and see if it's in bold to know if I got any new replies to a thread. How much longer until this gets fixed?

Turn all notices off and save. Then turn them back on and save. Had to do that recently with my credit card notifications. Yes a friend pointed it out. I should have thought of it myself.

You will only receive One notification of replies to a thread until you visit it again, not every notification since your last visit.
Once you visit the thread you may see there has been 10 replies, that is normal. And again once you visit it, you will only receive the next reply notification, not every reply since you were there last.

@Hobby_Man22 Are you Watching the threads you want to receive notifications about? Many of the Preferences will not work if you don't have threads on your Watch list or you're not active in the thread. I hope I'm not insulting you, but I know members here with 10,000+ posts who still don't use Preferences, Watch lists, and Alerts because they're confused by it.

In my experience with other members, it was always their fault for not having checked the [Watch] button at the top of each thread they wanted to receive Alerts for, or, they thought they had the right Preferences checked, but didn't. If that's all good, I don't know what it could be. I have never had any problems receiving Alerts.

I shouldn't have to watch threads that I created. With that being said, do I manually push that button everytime?

Correct, as long as the correct notification options are checked in your profile.

With that being said, do I manually push that button everytime?
If you want to follow a thread that you did NOT create OR respond to, then yes. If you respond to a thread that you did not create then you should automatically be subscribed (again, if all of the correct options have been selected in the User Profile).
Now, this is important...that button is a toggle. If you press it too may time you may unintentionally UNSUBSCRIBE yourself.
For instance, on this board it says either 'Watch' or 'Unwatch'. I've noticed that sometimes after I create a thread, the button will still say 'Watch', but that is only because the screen hasn't refreshed. Once refreshed it will reflect correctly. Confused yet?

Not sure if this applies to your situation, but I rely on email notifications to alert me to new responses on all of the forums that I follow.
Two things to be aware of: (1) Check your spam folder - it's very easy for the email filters to interpret the notifications as spam (happens all the time to me); (2) sometimes an ISP will 'blacklist' a forum (thinking that repeated notifications are spam). It's happened to me several time in the past (although not lately). I have several long-established e-mail addresses, so what I've done to confirm when I suspect this of happening is change my email address in the User Profile.

On the plus side, these roadblocks are almost always temporary; in many cases it's just a matter of the spam filters 'learning' which messages are legit. If/when you find a legit message marked as spam, make sure you mark it as legit in the email app.

Good luck!

If you want to receive Alerts and/or emails when someone has replied to a thread you created, yes, you do. You can either push the [Watch] button at the top of your own threads. Or you can check these boxes in Preferences, which will always put your own threads in your own Watch list:

[ ] Automatically watch content you create...
[ ] and receive email notifications

In BOTH cases you ALSO have to have these boxes checked for Alerts and emails...

Replies to a watched thread: [ ] Alert [ ] Push
With that being said, do I manually push that button everytime?
Not sure what you mean by "everytime". You only have to push the [Watch] button one time, but you have to do it at the top of each and every thread you want to put in your Watch list and receive Alerts and/or Emails for.

Lots of guys just use their Watch list. No Alerts. That's why it seems redundant, but it's not.

Like I said it's 50/50. This one I received a notification. Still don't receive email notifications though even though the box is checked.
have you ever gotten an email from GJ ?

Do you have the correct email address ?

If you have received emails before, what has changed since then ?

I guess I just didn't know you had to select the watch button everytime. This is the only internet forum that makes you do that, but that's okay at least I figured it out now. I did just receive this email too.
