So I'm planning on putting a 5x10 bathroom in my shop. Would using the water heater for in floor heat under just the bathroom benefit anything ot would I be wasting time and money.
The rest of the shop concrete is already finished, I just have the bathroom concrete left.

You want to use the water heater that will serve the sink (shower?) for in floor heat?

If you are putting in a combo boiler, you could, but not a normal tank heater.

If you want a heated floor in just there, I'd probably do something under tile like ditra heat. If it's just a toilet and sink, I wouldn't do anything as I assume you will have shoes on

Circulated hot water is hot water. Conventional, no, but 120 degree water would do quite a bit. Run pex loop in the slab, circulating pump wired to a stat and a small expansion tank and see what happens. What's the worst that can happen?

When I was running work, in the winter, thawing ground was always an issue before pouring slab on grade. We would just cover the area with concrete blankets and work elsewhere for a couple days. I always wanted to hook up a hot water heater using garden hose loop and a circulation pump under the blankets to help the process but never did.

I never said to use it as domestic hot water, neither did the OP. He said to use the hot water heater for in floor heat.

"using the water heater" sure sounds to me like using the same water heater for another purpose

Had he said "using a water heater", my answer would have been different
