In the day, when adding AC, we never tried to preserve the glove box. Instead, made an easily removable flat metal box, with a pocket to hold the papers upright. Sometimes just added the pocket to the door, and dumped any pretense of a glove box. The more room you can make yourself under there, the better.

I haven’t put the new repro box in yet, but I think there’s enough room for it above the evaporator.

One of the air output hoses may need some rerouting.

Replaced the rear door checkers (stops) on my Ridgeline. The rear doors have a really narrow opening. It's a pretty common mod on these to put in the (longer) door checkers used on the front to increase the door opening range. Makes it much easier to get in/out of the rear seats or load stuff in there.

Started off at 24" clearance and about 65° opening. Ended up at 29" and about 73° opening. The angle isn't much change but a big difference in space.

First one took about 30 minutes what with measuring and picture taking. Second one was done in 10 minutes. Parts were only $35. Pop the door panel off (3 screws), remove the speaker so you can reach up in there, remove 3 bolts, and swap them out.

Well, I'm sure you've seen the cost of gas in Canada!
Oh yeah!!! But the worst of it is the friggin kid probably has more money in his bank account than me!! :ROFLMAO:
My other sons truck is a Diesel Megacab. That thing has a huge tank. So lots of fun when he leaves me that one empty! Of course diesel is quite a bit more per liter for absolutely no reason!

Sort of cleaned the shop. Swept the floors on the open side, F350 project mess is on the other side, cleaned off some counter space, and put a few tools away. Moved a couple dead batteries outside, put the other 2 car batteries onto a piece of plywood in case they decide to start leaking. Company coming by tonight, he is going to pick up a mid-70s DT175 he sold me and a DT250 for parts. He and another friend are putting a bike together to take to Bonneville.

Cut open the little hole to a moderate hole for Tcase brake addition at a later date. Also helps me figure out where holes will need to go for the shifter cable.

will sandwich between the access cover and floorboard with cork sheet.

plan to do the transmission tunnel hump too for access to the shifter linkages if I need to.

time to print off the schematic for hydraulics and get lines built.

Yesterday - removed the rusted A/C vacuum reservoir from the Mustang and sandblasted it. The bottom was eaten up with rust and not much holding it on. I thought I could weld a new bottom on, but I could see holes in the top as well once the bottom was removed. Not sure I want to pay $107 for a new glorified "coffee can". I may just coat the inside and outside with POR-15 and see if it holds up.

Spent the rest of the afternoon grinding and touching up the underside of floor pan welds while laying on the concrete floor and pondering my options on the "coffee can".

I used to just use tomato cans.

Got the new hidden head unit wired in and mounted to the firewall. Wiring isn’t done or cleaned up yet, but tested and it works.

Cut the rivets and disassembled the glove box hinge. Removed rust. I’ll paint it, probably black, probably this weekend when it warms up.

Bought a glove box latch from eBay.

Replaced batteries in my flexible flashlight. It uses AAAA (yes, 4 A's) batteries - they're tiny. Of course, they come in 2-packs or 4-packs and I only need 3. Hard to find a use for only 1 AAAA battery. And, these will probably last 5 years or more!

Cleaned up the divider I cut out of an Ernst organizer tray. That section will now hold my long forceps that, before, stuck up over the edge and would hang up on the box when I tried to open the drawer.

Is the grasshopper powder coated? I really like the look of it! What did you use for the legs?
No, Sir.
This was the test subject and the pitted condition of the RR spike is bad. It wasn't worth power coating.

Front legs - 3/32" Heliarc rod.
Rear jumping legs - 3/16" mild steel rod.
