I remember a tarnish remover that was a saturated cotton in an orange can. You would pull some off the roll, and it worked very well. The can was about 2 1/2 - 3 inches in diameter and about 4 inches high. I think they had another type in a blue can. I just can't remember the name. Thanks

Sno-Pro typed it while I went to the basement to take photos.
I remember these growing up

Anyone know what the magic was?

Pretty sure we polished the copper bottom pots with it, and certainly remember the smell...

Yes, but what WAS the chemical cleaner?
mostly petroleum Distillates,

Possibly, I'm wrong. Both cans say non toxic, but they also say combustible! No ingredients listed.
It smells like chrome cleaner or Brasso.

I used to use that wadding type stuff. I now use Blue Magic cream polish. I might have to get some neverdull and do a side by side comparison test. I have an old can of Brasso I got free from a guy who was moving and didn’t want to take half full cans and bottles and jars of household chemicals. (People who are moving are a great source of useable stuff. I got a nice 3 burner Weber grill with stainless steel grates plus 3 propane tanks for $100)

Don't ask.
NevR-dull now comes in a "chrome" can and has for many years. Before that it was in blue can and i believe originally ab orange can.
I also use Cape Cod polishing cloths. Similar but in a cloth rather than the cotton wadding.
