Finished sanding the patio furniture. Need to decide what stain I’m going to use on them.

Finished up the wiring for the hidden head unit. Got it all dressed up anf secured out of the way.

Painted the hinge parts for the glove box door.

Cleaned up and put things away.

Cleaned up the silicone mats from my casting adventures.
I used silicone mats which had plenty of static. The loose flakes kept sticking to the mat.
I usually did my casting on a waxed piece of sheet metal. I think it was easier to clean.

Puttied some air holes in the castings.
All the while the pup watched the neighborhood.

Made some more progress on the HF bandsaw. I added some wheels, brackets to hold the power cord, and a new stopper for holding the saw vertically. I don't plan on using it in vertical mode but I wanted something better than the original setup it came with for when I need to service it.

Tried to figure out my new calculator. IMG_5106.jpeg

Serious calculator for its age! all the way to single digit billions?

Where is the read out?

I have no idea how it works. I need to research.

Any outside connection points or reset levers? More pics? any Mfg/Branding lables?

Maybe its a check impressing machine?
I had two of those. One looked a bit like this, only curvy. Another was all open, and had iron scrollwork and pinstripes. I donated them to the state museum along with an instruction book and a pad or so of spreadsheets. In my day they were de rigueur for the up n coming budgeteer at NYS DOB. I remember collecting them all as I handed out hundreds of 3270s.

Garage adjacent in the laundry area, 'rebuilt' the clothes dryer. I had replaced bad rollers, belt and pulley several years ago with a cheap eBay or Amazon kit. Started making some lovey grinding and squealing noises on the past couple months. So, I got a factory kit, spent a couple hours disassembling, cleaning and reassembling the unit. Nice and quiet once again.

As the Brits sometime say... I feel quite CHUFFED with myself...
In the garage today, I continued to work on the damaged circuit board on one of my shop machines...
Trying to help out the new shop owners... A new replacement machine is over $10,000.00...
The old machine has a fried board with "no longer available" components...
Well today I won the lottery, so to speak... Put my repaired board back in the machine...
Low and behold, the machine fired right up and worked as it should... The new owner was ecstatic...
He offered to pay me for my effort... I told him it's just good will on my part...
All part of keeping a good lessee of the building and keeping my ex employees employed...

On the same visit to the shop, I stopped by to see one of my renters that called me this morning with furnace issues...
Checked it out and found a broken ceramic igniter module...
I keep spares of this part that are used in the same model of furnaces in all my rentals...
It was a 15 minute job to pull 3 screws and put in a new igniter module... Hit the heat cycle on the thermostat...
Furnace works as it should...

Today was a satisfying / productive day...
