Can you turn the box?
It is rare to find a Bell Box with hubs on the side but they are out there.
I used the box sideways, but the in use cover now has the holes in the side, so it's not rated as in use anymore.

Most 2 gang covers can rotate? I replaced a horizontal 1 gang, but had to use the top corner one the 2 gang sideways because I had another conduit directly above the box. My one gang cover worked horizontal or vertical. My 2 gang does not.
That might work. Was hoping for a hole in the top instead of the middle. But I think my condition will flex enough.Bell# 5346-0

Don't use the middle hole if you have to have the conduit off kilter.
Simple way would be an LR into the top of the box you have. Probably better solutions out I can't rattle off PN, I have to stand in the aisle and look sometimes

Are you trying to re-use the mounting hole in the siding too?
Was trying. Already have an extra hole when I switched out the broken plastic box for a metal one last summer. Decided I needed a 2 gang this summer and was trying not to put a third set of holes in the siding in a small area.

In your original post, the box appears to be square. Can the plates that the devices attach to be removed and installed 90 degrees to the original position so that they are parallel to the blank sides?
No. First thing I thought of. I think I found a cover I can rotate.

I need a dual gang because my rechargeable pool vacuum plug covers 2 outlets because it's a stupid big wall wart. So a gang becomes a 1 item. And I use the second one for a cover pump and other assorted stuff throughout the year. Do I "need" it, no. But it will sure be used and convenient.
Yeah, probably what I should do. I just like it where it is so I can reach around the corner from my deck and plug stuff in.A few dabs of caulk and 1 qt of paint........

Yes, at the breaker. Pool installation put GFCI breakers on both the 120 and 240(pool pump) circuit. I piggy backed off the light circuit to add the outlet. I thought about also using a GFCI outlet, but decided it was protected enough.

If you were considering adding a GFCI outlet to a circuit that is already protected by an upstream GFCI breaker….. don’t.
