Holy Cow! I'm a full 11 pages behind on this thread! I can't imagine what I've been...Oh, yeah--just about everything except going to sales and reading my favorite thread. I've got to knuckle down and catch up.

MrsLS and I drove down to Jake’s flea this breezy morning. $16 brought back a big C-clamp stamped Bonney, an unmarked claw hammer, two Craftsman nail sets, a bitbrace screwdriver bit (not shown), the top of a 1/8” numeric punch set that I bought on the 13th from the same seller, a Stanley dovetail saw, Hinsdale L-handle with swivel socket, C-man 6mm nutdriver, Petersen ViseGrip sans spring, Blue-Point grabber, Duro ratchet, unmarked screwcap multitool loaded w bits, and a XceLite nutdriver holder.

That should be early 60's or so.
I was reluctant to open it, because of the thought of the difficulty of getting it all rolled back nice and tidy and compact enough to get it back inside, but the instruction sheet in this complete kit is copyrighted 1968. Contents teaser photo below and a link to the Lugzsonian post for more photos and commentary here.

I'm way behind on stuff, so these are things I picked up a couple of weeks ago.

These cost me $3, but I had to sort through a dark, dank basement.
3 dollars.jpg

The hex set is Indestro, seems to be complete, I've seen others, but they always seem to be missing some pieces.
The pipe wrenches are Stillson and Greenfield, I had to clean them up a little to see the mfg.

Another stop had this parts storage case, there was a couple of unopened bags of dividers, so I think I might clean it up, repaint it, and use it tos tore fasteners.

Box1.jpgBox2.jpg

Just for grins, I grabbed a $6 ziplock bag full of misc wrenches. They were pretty rusted, I've cleaned them a little, they were pretty bad.
Wrenchx.jpg

Mixed bag:
Indestro
Dunlap
Globemaster - Italy??
Three Barcolo of various vintages
And a couple of Controlled Steel, aka JP Danielson
There were a few others that weren't very memorable.

The W.No 55 is interesting, anybody know what that is??

Had much of the day to myself today so I went to both flea markets. This is what I scrounged up cheap at the first one.

-Large Matco pinch bar
-Craftsman 1/2” speeder
-Peerless cuffs, no keys.
-Mac or Matco ? Socket Tray
-Mac ratcheting dbe
-Blackhawk-Armstrong small doe
-pot metal 4” adjustable
-Sexauer pocket clip screwdriver
-2 unfinished doe wrenches! Surprise find at a regular’s booth. Bottom of toolbox full of rusty hardware. Looks like they could be Craftsman RP. Found the uncut one and kept digging to find the same wrench cut out.
-Craftsman crown top tape measure
-Sears magnet made by General
-Master Mechanic pliers
- 3/8 sliding T handle with female/male. Unmarked. Having a brain fart. I know what this one is.
-3 3/8” ratchets. Craftsman, Penncraft, Duro-Chrome
-3 combo wrenches. G&G. Never ran into a wrench with the name, only ratchets. Looks Ohio made. Came with the small Vanadium Tool and S-K combos.

Second flea. I found this interesting box of trinkets with an interesting tiny wrench sticking out. Added the Perfect Handle wrench and got all for $5.

Misc tool steel, brass, odds n ends.

Turned out there were a number of interesting small wrenches in there. A cool homemade male hex wrench. Some branded tool steel including one Pratt & Whitney.

Starrett and Whitman & Barnes charts.

Some neat open ends.
- Dodge Brothers
- McKaig Hatch
- Barcalo
-no name flat wrench
-5 pc tiny set of Gordon (England) wrenches. The smallest is 1/8”, oddly the first wrench I spotted. One wrench broken and one modified.
-Canforge Welland Ontario. A new to me oldie I’m not familiar with.
-Williams 3/16 single end
-2 really cool Stahlwille single ends. 6mm and 7mm.

Other finds:

-Bog male 1/2” extension. Lucky find in a box of drill bits as the seller was packing up.
-Apco Mossberg 1/2” by 1/2” square
-Snap-on 3/8”
-Mac brake bleeder wrench
- 2 Large wood handle screwdrivers. Blue-Point Tool Co Chicago! I’ll have to make them a little more readable. For their age, I can’t believe the lightly used condition.

Thanks BMW. I was happy when I spotted the tiny 1/8" by 9/64". I quickly grabbed the box before finding out the others were there.

Lugz thanks for the links on the Canforge mystery. I'll have to look around at more examples.

Mr Wonderful *****, indeed, for his $10 press.

On the board for the first time in a while. I missed the Neighborhood-wide yard sale with other commitments on Saturday, but found the last house that was “open” late in the afternoon. Dude gave me a current uniform that fits me (too big for him), and is basically new, and made with insect treatment. Not pictured.

Tools I picked up at a local thrift shop. I bet I go in there a couple times a month, and this was the most pay dirt I’ve ever hit.

Plvmb 86A 7/16” cold chisel (unusual to find Plvmb in the wild here!)
Mayhew alignment punch
Starrett firm joint calipers
Lufkin Tool 5” inside calipers
Lufkin Tool 5” outside calipers
Union Tool dividers
Union Tool 6” outside calipers
Unmarked center head
Jacobs 3-6-34 chuck wrench

Pretty much all the calipers need some serious effort to derust, but the total price was less than a combo meal. While cleaning with WD 40 and steel wool, uncovered some PO marks, “GIG.” Makes me wonder if those were his initials, or if he spent that much time getting gigged? 🙄🤣

Suckage deal, but US Made? I think Jet is a US Co. but I thought Jet was all import?
I was kind of surprised at that. Jet started here down on 19th & Jefferson - just down the street from Delta Cam, selling imported bottle jacks. We were one of their first accounts. We could retail their 1.5 ton bottle jack for $8.88, and throw the "warranties" in the dumpster and still make money.
My understanding was that all of their stuff was coming in from Asia.

Jet / Jet Equipment Importers Inc., 1901 So. Jefferson Ave., Tacoma, WA 98402 / https://jettools.com/ / succeeded by JPW Industries Inc. / importer of tools, jacks, vises, and other equipment, mostly from mainland China (PRC) / TM 1361447 Reg Sep 24 1985 first use Feb 1980 /

Canforge Welland Ontario.
It appears that the "Canforge" links cited above (and on the other pages referred to) are all dead links. This "Niagara Falls Review" article appears to offer some information:

This one is only marked Tacoma WA so that's what initially made me think it was US made.

Yeah maybe....
Yes, JET started right here. With little 1.5 ton bottle jacks. They came in and pitched 'em to my brother-in-law and he placed an order.
We sold the hell out of those little jacks.
Grew it into an empire. Not sure what's in that building now... from Google "Street View" it looks like it's part of the University of Washington Tacoma campus.
The Swiss Tavern was right across the street. It is sorely missed. Way better venue than Jazzbones (okay, except the acoustics at the Swiss sucked BIG time.)(Here's the studio cut if you want to actually hear the song.)
I would go with imported from Asia, and the sticker is just indicating Jet's home base.

Able to get out this weekend to a place we've visited before. The reason we went back was to pick up some full dimension and salvage lumber that we can use on our granary renovation. Knew there was a lot of lumber but it was difficult to pick out usable lengths and wasn't full of nails. After a lot of searching, here's our pile we drug home.
IMG_1203.JPG

Also went through the tool rooms again, which had been cleaned up since our last visit. Glad we did, found some axe handles, large oil drums with good graphics, and some misc shop tools. All in $200 for the lumber, shop stuff and tools. Of special note is a Herbrand Breaker bar ratchet adapter.

4- AC 44 spark plugs
Indestro 1/4” partial sets with husky ratchet, no name breaker, Bonney Handle
Porcelain Attendant Key sign from 1944
