I picked up the red hard handle and the black handle high torque, both are very nice, made in USA drivers at a very reasonable price. I got an email from Tekton recently that said the were going to start offering screwdrivers made by a German company that makes drivers for one of the tool trucks (presumably Witte) but hopefully they'll still offer the USA made ones too. I own the Witte ones as well and they're nice but the Tekton USA ones are just as high quality.

My favorite set of screwdrivers is the Tekton trilobe High Torque

They have held up reasonably well, and are the most comfortable driver handle I own

A excellent bargain at $2ish dollars a piece

I ordered a 6 piece set after initially ordering a 2 piece set. Judging by their website the new design full price screwdrivers and the old stock clearance ones look like they use the same handle. Tips are a little different and I believe both are USA made. Model numbers change from DHS to DHE.

"We released new slotted drivers with an electricians-style tip in 2023. This version is old."

As they are the manufacturer & in made in the USA, I'm not sure why making more of the screwdriver would be difficult. I love all my Tekton tools. Only complaint is Meijer (Midwest grocery store) stopped carrying them :ROFLMAO:

I thought that the new one's coming out were supposed to be made in Germany, so I guess we can expect yet another change.

Yes, this is what they emailed. German made that also supplies a tool truck, which is most likely Witte.

There are a couple of Witte bitdrivers that I'm interested in, but could never find at a reasonable price. I wonder if they'll sell those as well. I know model #468023/468024 was one, I'd have to dig for the other.

Haters gonna hate. So be it. Tekton has been marketing tools long enough by now to know they aren't going to please everyone.

I say keep on keepin' on. I appreciate every upgrade they make whether I'm the target buyer or not. It indicates to me that they're continuously innovating and attempting to bring better products into their catalog. I expect hits and misses.

I like them both, and I would not classify the high torque ones as "cushy grip." It is over-molded, but the rubber is high durometer. I purchased their sample pack with two #2 Philips to see which one I like the best. I just jumped on the high torque deal, but would have gotten the other one if that was the one on sale.

I also bought both when they came out, and don't like the rubber one single bit. Luckily the make (made) both because, well, everyone is different.

I love the Tekton hard handle. My favorite handle of any driver I’ve ever owned.

The trilobe material is nice, but the shape just doesn’t jive with my hand at all. Maybe I don’t have enough experience using this type of handle, eg knowing proper palm placement on it as I’m turning/torquing, but I tried using it a few times (I bought the PH2 combo pack when the new USA screwdrivers launched) and just never got a feel for it.

Now if only I could have Tekton’s hard handles on the Vessel shafts/heads… that would be the ultimate screwdriver IMO
