When he let me shoot it, I plugged an elevated bird house at about 40 yards … SOLD!! [No birds were harmed in the test!] I gave him $50 and he promised to save future Snap On finds for me. A fair deal IMO.Went to a listed tool heavy sale on this rainy Saturday morning in NY. Only problem is that the seller is a guy who I see at all other sales in the area and he also came to two of my sales and bought a lot of my stuff. Needless to say I recognized a lot of stuff he had for sale

Another GPA - 2 Consecutive weeks! I chased this Thursday and Friday but no luck syncing with the seller till setup time this AM (I got there early...)
2 228's I left the F and took this nickel plated B (second half of the year) 1947 "D" Series for $25

In my experience, the Coleman nickel plating hit its acme on the B '47 models. Lanterns, stoves, whatever--all have cleaned up very well for me.

Wow! Trailer wiring is basically a consumable item in my experience, and jacks aren't far behind (although those can sometimes be rebuilt), so you definitely did well!
The wheels look great, definitely take a look at the bearings.

Weird eclectic yard sale today. I'm pretty sure the metal contraption is a water well drill bit? He said the other stuff came from a retired police car and an ambulance. The speaker is almost armor plated. Works, sounds cool. Everything was $20.

How is that meager?!? Major suckage there!!!Today's meager haul, two stops:
The lanterns are from the first stop, Coleman 243A (blue, first for my collection), Sept. '35; 242C, May '50. Both have original globes! I offered $20 each,as the seller is a friend--he actually stopped by the shop to let me know he had them. No extra charge for 2 lb of mud daubber nests. Regardless the appearance, both seem to be in good shape and will clean up nicely.
The vice is a Chas. Parker No. 954 1/2.
Pliers are later model Eiffel:
with tubing cutter jaw.
The vise was $75 with the pliers tossed in.

I hit a big community sale today. Not as much as last year. I did get this salesman sample of a Bully tools shovel for $4. It’s a “caprock shovel” and sells for over $100 with a handle. The lanterns are for power outages. I scored them for $5 ea. only used once and came with batteries. Amazon lists them for $45 each surprisingly. Not bad at all.

Now semi-retired so any work I have as long as I get it done by the scheduled due date I end up having a lot of flexibility in my time which allows me now to hit sales during the normal work week if need be. That said,
Thursday professional sale starting at 8:00 am , next to nothing priced and company just trying to clear the house and sheds, etc. as soon as possible. Hit the shed first since photo's showed tools in it but unorganized and stuff all over. Guys snapping up well used S-K stuff laying around while I dig through a Craftsman combination tool box/bench. Bingo..........pull out a set of Snap-On 1/2 drive SAE eight point sockets but missing one from the set. Full set of Snap-On 3/8 drive metric sockets and a Bonney ignition set whether complete or not who knows.
Another sale with a mechanic culling his herd. Snap-On 3/8 drive impact driver set missing the driver, swivel impact sockets Sunex, Cornwell, Matco SAE & metric, Hazet metric wrenches.

Found a couple good sales lately...more junk coming in the door, I gotta work on moving some the other direction!
$8 backyard sale, shoulda probably just kept the BE 1/2 set and the Nicholson swiss files but I dragged a bunch of other stuff home too of course. The Hi-Test box was a disappointment, it's cheaply made foreign stuff with imitation 1/4 SK sockets that fooled me!
This was a privately run estate sale. I asked how much the Kennedy top box was and when the guy said $40 I couldn't get my wallet out fast enough. This thing is minty, no real rust at all. Also another $5 worth of sockets in there that I'll show in the next pic.
Sockets mostly random Craftsman along with a few random wrenches that were in the box
$2 back yard sale, a few randoms and an old Husky set that has all the sockets amazingly. Not sure what I'm missing on this until I look it up.
Another private estate sale. I did not want the stupid huge and heavy electric impact wrench but I wanted the full set of Proto impacts that were in there. Long story short the guy running the sale talked me into taking it and the rest of the stuff for $35. Pretty happy about the minty SK 4921. The bigger combo wrenches are Snap on as is the 3/8 speeder. The Morris socket wrenches are interesting, what sort of thing uses a nut that small???
Ended up going back to the same sale from above after a kids birthday party...I knew I missed something went through a cabinet that I missed first time around and found this Chrome X Quality 1/2 socket set with a pretty nice label

Since my endless winter work schedule we’ve been preparing our little farm for our wedding. After 33 years together we decided to make it official as of last Saturday. I can’t remember the last yard sale or flea market I went to.
However, towards the end of my overtime season I was making a delivery and came across a pickup truck in my customers back yard. Week or so later she called me and told me she’d sell it to me for $500. Went and paid her and drove it home.
Needs a little love but I needed a full size truck in a bad way and this 2004 Silverado fits the bill.
I sold the Buick from February this week for a tidy profit. Enough to put some good money into the truck and pay off our wedding expenses.

It was an odd day today. The only sale listed was one we hit last week. I grabbed the Starrett inside micrometer set I passed on last week. 
My wife wanted the mailbox looking art piece. It will go on her wall of rusty treasures.
A block away we stopped at a TOO put on by a regular seller we call the Tupperware Lady. I grabbed an abused Mac carry box with no tray and an unmarked claw hammer.
Last week we saw a Delta belt sander that I thought my neighbor could use but left it behind because I already had a very similar Craftsman sander. When my neighbor tried to pick it up on Sunday the sale appeared over. We went back by the house and the garage door was open so I asked about the sander and it was still available so I bought it.
Since the seller was in the process of moving he gave us some extension cords, a trouble light and a 100’ hose.

Inverted stamp, no date code or model number--early Buck 110 from the '60s? And only five bucks?!!! These seem to be the most valuable out of all the 110s, and besides a new one from Wally is now $65.
While I like handles on my prybars, I'm finding the style like that Mac seems to be a lot more versatile, especially the "spud" end for aligning bolt holes.

DO NOT send them to Cutco! I had a small pocketknife (1886) I'd acquired secondhand with a blunt edge, and they took way too much meat out of the blade. In addition, it wasn't that sharp. For the fees and what it cost to ship it off, I probably should've just gotten a nice stone with a rubber base. Recently got one of those, and it's rectified most of my sharpening problems.

Thanks! The bog ratchet was confusing the heck out of me until I did a little digging. I'm wondering if the sockets are Bog as well? They don't look Bog at all to me. Or did they combine the Bog ratchet with Duro/Indestro sockets? Hmm

Estate sale ($35): Petzl head light; SOG collapsible saw, Stewart Jr. pencil sharpener; Black and Decker inverter; Food Saver V-365 vacuum sealer; Bayco florescent work light (nib); Snap On F 10 H 3/8" flex head breaker bar; Indestro 2650 1/4" flex head breaker bar; Thorsen 77JC 3/8" ratchet; Thorsen 3/8" extension; Carborundum 118S Fine sharpening stone (nib); Sherman Diamond brass watering nozzle; Stanley Rule & Level turn screw; Spanish M1964 bayonet for CETME rifle; No. 4 grad LSS Starrett 18" combination square.
The bayonet has a bolo style blade. Both the seller and myself thought it was just worn, but no it looks the way it's supposed to. One version was used in Guatemala so I guess it's for hacking your way through the undergrowth. First time I've had a knife with a metal scabbard, which definitely gives it a satisfying sound when sheathed. Never seen a carborundum stone with the logo intact.

Carboot was over a week ago, didn't get a thing, this was the third of the year I picked nothing, not a great run this year. Still enjoy the hell out of it though.
House renovations are on going, renting a house on the opposite side of the village, hopefully will just be for about 3 months. Big renovations, all new plumbing, all new electrics, new windows, and the existing drylining is being removed and replaced. So a lot going on, had a lot of pages of catching up to do, a lot of cool and interesting finds

The rain in NY has been ridiculous. It has rained every weekend as far back as I can remember. With that said, when I saw a posting for a tool heavy sale I ran quickly out the door. Well it wasn't that great but I grabbed this canvas bag filled with "my dad's old tools" that the guy thought was worth a million dollars. I offered $20, he countered at $35 and we settled at $30. I probably overpaid a bit but there were a few treasures. The ChannelLock needle nose and Linesman Pliers are in very good condition. The four C Clamps, ball peen and brass hammer round out the best of the bag. I also grabbed two tyvek suits and an old pickaxe for an extra $5. Oh well can't win em all.

The A702 ratchet from the early 1970s Bonney A50B set is frozen, but I have others, and will probably get this one going again. One socket is split (possible impact driver victim) and one is a Craftsman. Probably straighten and repaint the exterior of the box.
Brass-finish doorstops, L-hooks.
Don’t know why I was in a small ViseGrip mood, but they are all De Witt NE.
Stillson wrench, Vaughan & Bushnell battery(?) pliers.
Utica hog ring pliers, Bonney pliers, wrenches, Plomb pebble short dbe, 3/8dr flex shaft, oyster knife, riffler.
Assorted FSP, S-O, B-P tools, Disston catalog.
Leftbehinds included several HD- and R- size Bonney sockets and crowsfeet, but the hardest to walk away from was a 1/3hp Craftsman heritage castiron benchgrinder on original stand asking $60. Three issues were dry bearings, hunter green paint, and rustpitting all over the column. Plus, I have half a dozen Craftsman crowntop benchgrinders. And I only had $3 left in my wallet. Still…

LEFT-BEHINDs included a very cool tiny GENSET (too steep @ $250 for me) and car folk art. I thought at first that it might've been an L. KERSH 'Horological' (some of you may recall I found one, linked here, a few years ago), but I was mistaken. Not made of clock or watch parts.

Those Tiny Tiger generators are very cool! Its a two stroke and I have two that I need to work on:
One was running but I lost a ball bearing bit from the carb cleaning it, I now have a replacement I just need time to go do it. The other I got cheap a souple years back partially dissassembled. I want to have one setup and stored under the hood of my Samurai. The second can go to the T-van. If needed I could recharge my battery in a pinch.

This is not mine: a guy I know on another forum picked it up today and I've never seen one:
It is a1/2 drive Kent - Moore extension/speeder.
With sufficient clearance; bust it loose with the ratchet, use the speeder to get it off and if you hit a tight/rough spot re-apply the ratchet. I like that.
