Nevermind the Blackhawk question... Seems this site has a nice search function and I can do my own homework. Now to see if Wright's tools have a thread or two to gauge love for that brand.

The spinner completed this 1961 1/4“ drive set #4921. The correct 5/16” deep socket took a while to find. The newly completed set is on the top in these pictures. IMG_2392.jpeg

It's an optical illusion, but it appears you've double stacked three shallows under the shorter deeps in the bottom set. I wonder if that would actually work for spares? I'll have to look into that with my sets.

I rescued another S-K box from the scrap bin. There were no S-K tools within, unfortunately. This was the as-found condition. Hammering it back to straight(er) was fun.

I posted a war-time version of this box up-thread (#3437 & #4989). Don and Shelbylex also shared photos of a post-war box like this one. It was interesting to compare them in person. The lids' corner treatment is different and this box is made of heavy 18 gauge steel, whereas the war-time box is only 20 gauge. (Approximately .050" vs. .035").

I guess I'm mostly posting to show how well the name plate cleaned up. The gritty old grease was surprisingly hard, but naphtha eventually cut through it. I used a disposable acid-brush with the bristles snipped very short as a scrub-brush.

Seeing the photo up close has me wondering if I can get it even cleaner!

I’ve been watching for one of these ‘53 to ‘56 3/8” drive 4530 master sets and found an empty box listed on eBay. Although the interior isn’t bad, the exterior will require new paint.IMG_2429.jpegIMG_2430.jpegIMG_2431.jpegIMG_2432.jpegIMG_2433.jpegIMG_2438.jpeg

I borrowed tools from a ‘58 set to get an idea of what the completed set will look like. I will have to use many 12 point sockets to make the set accurate. IMG_2434.jpeg

I have plenty of SAE stuff, so I was pleased to find this 3/8 S-K metric set
Looks lightly used and in pretty darn decent shape

A couple of the sockets are missing, and one is broken
One of the missing sockets is the 10mm.....of course it is :ROFLMAO:

Nice collection, Steven 33!!!
Steven 33, can you show a better picture of the larger Blue box on the right?
I have a similar looking box with 1/4 and 1/2 set from SKWayne period. Wonder if you have the same (I could not find the set number - thus do not know what it was suppose to have...). I think I posted it before - sorry for repeat picture...)SK_Wayne_blue_set.jpg

Here I believe is a rare one of a kind SK 1/2" drive stubby ratchet. I know I have never seen another like it. I cut the handle off and welded a ball bearing on the end. Back in time when I had time and no money for store bought.

Nice job! If you had it re-chromed, I wouldn't know it wasn't factory.
