Checking out the post office box the other morning, I found a $55 rebate from Menards. Not letting a good thing go to waste I picked up some sockets for the enclosed trailer....shown elsewhere. Then I turned my attention to the key stock assortment I have been assembling.

That meant the rear most would be better completely new and the old hidden.

I'd like it to be closer to the edge but mounted to the tool box created a slight set back issue.

For the vise, have you considered mounting it to a plate that matches the box holes? You could extend it to the edge easily that way.

Is there a drawer missing or are you leaving that section open for something? Seems like it would let a lot of dust in.

Yeah that drawer is out. What tools you can see in the right side are out of the top full width drawer.

I didn't post a picture of the drawer being out because it was sitting on the hood of the Cobra.

Don't worry, it was NOT going to hurt that hood.... it's a donor car.

The vise will be fine. I don't use it often and why I never bought a bigger one for the trailer.

If I have to do that much repair work, I will probably load up and go home.

Actually the vise set back does work out it the grand scheme....less vise hanging over to get in the way of anything else.

Eric, I close the Wilton on the workbench and give it a little ugga-dugga so the handle clears the benchtop when the vise is turned counterclockwise as far as it can go. I have bruised my 'muffin' on that vise so many times it has become permanently discolored (my muffin, not the vise).

There's addition coming to the garage. It's something I have been mauling over for the last couple of months and the thought has been amping up. The wife accused you fellas as being a bad influence. . . sorta of.



It's been ordered and awaiting receiving from the manufacturer. Anyone care to guess what it is or what color ?

Cam guessed a Miller Diversion 180 TIG welder. The truth is that it's a Miller TIG welder. I fretted over this decision for a while. I don't know how to TIG but want to learn and have a hard time parting with a chunk of change like I did. The wife helped put my mind at ease when she said she would throw in $1K out of her mad money for Father's Day from her and Mr. Bones.

So with her approval, I really started to search, new and used for he best deal. I found a couple of used machines but I couldn't fathom dishing out the cash and having to replace a thousand board in a used machine if it happened. I would have been happy with a Hobart unit but that doesn't exist. I considered basically Blue and Red. The new Lincoln Square Wave 205 at $1500 price point looked like a good deal. But that was like me buying a GM product so I looked harder at the line up from Miller.

I kicked around the Miller Syncrowave 210 which comes with a Build with Blue rebate of $300. The LWS had it priced at $3295 -$300 = $2995. The new Syncrowave 212 air cooled costs $2799 and has no rebate. However, Cyberweld offers a Cheese Bonus for $100 to come in at $2699. I kicked around one more option, the Syncrowave 212 with a spoolgun option at $3299. It has a Cyberweld Cheese Bonus of $375 bring the cost down to $2924.

The winner.

Kickass Eric, that’s a smoking deal. Back when I settled on my toy tig I had ordered a syncrowave (this was back when Zoro was spitting out 30% discounts). Well Zoro cancelled my order so I jumped on the 180. Back then I think I spent around little over a grand. The other day when we were discussing it I looked up what a new 180 would cost and was floored at the price.

You done good brother, I’m happy for you 👍

Thanks. Honestly, it took some prodding from the wife. I was about ready to pull the trigger the other day and found out our kitchen stove died. Priorities, first things first. I thought maybe my dreams got smashed but the wife kept poking me. . . "get it ordered" and "you're doing like you did with your truck."

She got a stove and a $200 grapevine tree last week, plus 2weeks ago, a road trip for her birthday. Honestly, she backs most of my tool purchases.

How about piecing the 212 together, the one I bought for $2924 and 1S water cooler ala carte for $1047. Total of $3971 instead of the $3899 for the standalone 212 w/ cooler package. For about $100 more, you gain a spoolgun.

Double check my math and make sure to click the Cyberweld Cheese Bonus offer.

I’m going to hit up my Lynde salesman and see what he can do. We do a **** load of business with them nation wide and if I tell him it’s for me, he’ll hook me up. I bought a 215 for my field guys last year and he killed it. Close to 20% under the best online pricing I found.

However, with the glove box holder, the 5mil gloves I buy have a smaller box. Package shows 7mil glove box so I don't know if there's a size difference in the boxes.

So, I already knew this with a previous unit and decided it was time to resolve it.

Using some polyiso foam on the back and some thinner foam on the sides, it fills up the voids.

On to the next project. Seeing as how I will be building a welding cart for the incoming Miller, I figured it would be a double decker and house the plasma cutter too.

That leaves me with an air supply issue... slightly small one. So I picked up this reel for the lower regulated air.
