Has anyone had to clean bluestone and not disturb the grout (?) between pieces? I believe a pressure washer will do more damage than good. This is on a staircase and walls to planters. If so what did you do or use? Other recommendations are appreciated.

Regards,
Bob

Careful pressure washer use. Been doing it for years with great results.

I know you are worried about the grout…but that needs to be cleaned as well. Hasn’t hurt my grout either.

I pressure wash my bluestone patio (layed like pavers over a base with polymeric sand in the joints) and my porch (set on concrete and grouted) aggressively without issues.

Its hard to hurt it.

Bluestone? I suspect that is a very local material. I've never run across it.

Sand stone is not blue stone but used in a similar fashion.

Flagstone can also be Vermont slate.

Blue stone *is* sandstone.
Blue stone and sandstone are both sedimentary type of stone.
Blue stone is typical of a tight blue/Grey color and considered premium in durability.

Sandstone can have multiple colors, less durable and durability.

Blue stone has a premium price.

That sounds like a sales pitch from a patio and garden center.

Bluestone is a specific type of sand stone.

All bluestone is sandstone, but not all sandstone is bluestone.
