First ever Park Tool purchase. I’ve been working a lot more on bikes and these became a need. Made in USA which is nice. I wish they had the sizes somewhere on the wrench so I’ll have to put some tape on each one with the size written in sharpie.

Went on the Snappy truck just for the small pliers and found some cool flexible diamond files. They should work well at work because I specifically machine hardened tool steel and only diamond files will work.

The Park spoke wrenches used to have the size on the vinyl handle in the same white as the PARK name--which wears off after a few uses.

Those files look incredibly handy!

Newest tool and oldest tool... My Knipex 8" bolt cutter arrived today, pictured with a Snap On F4L Speederfrom 1956 that i gave a light restoration today. The spinner handle was kind of sluggish, but some cleaning, working it back and forth and a bit of tri-flow and it is spinny once more and ready for another 74 years of service.

Went to Harbor Freight yesterday to get stubby wrenches but they had none so going to two other locations today hopefully they have them. But yesterday I did get a hat, 5 and 7 mil gloves and a cutoff tool and some UV leak dye to track down a leak on dad’s car. The cutoff tool works amazing a few of my coworkers have had the same one for a couple years now and it works great. The green 5 mil gloves hold up a lot better than the blue ones do. I prefer the blue for color but they tear on oil changes they used to not be bad. Now these green ones are pretty durable I don’t know if the formula is different for the colors or what. The 7 and 9 mil gloves I’ve never had an issue with though. They now have orange 7 mil gloves too.

I bought that hat too.

Never knew that trucker hat mesh could **** so badly. lol

I bought the Tekton torx driver set that on clearance. I’m a sucker for these Tekton hard handles. My hands’ favorite.

Interesting that the T25 shaft is bronze compared to the others. I assume that some sort of flaw or oxidation of black oxide(?).

Feel like I've been buying a lot of tools lately...
  • Foredom flex shaft rotary tool - picked this up secondhand last week for about the same money as a "nicer" Dremel. The foot pedal coupled with the additional torque and dexterity of this is incredible. The seller I bought it from also had a miniature bench mounted belt sander attachment - I haven't used that yet but it looks like it'll be useful for burnishing / cleaning up some of the printed metal parts I make for work.
  • Apache 3800 Case - second stop at HF in a week, not common for me but these were on sale and a perfect fit for the above mentioned rotary tool. Unfortunately don't have the bench space currently to keep it out all the time.
  • Mini abrasive wheel - for a buck at HF, I'll see if I want to pick these up in smaller sizes. Like them a lot in the larger sizes.

I'm pretty sure mine still have the size on them. Not that it helps me much, I can't look at spoke and tell which wrench I need, so I end up trying them out to find the one that fits.

Pointy and sharp things that arrived this week.

Stahlwille Hook & Pick Set 13000-13003/4 155mm
Pleased with these, proportions are just right. Not too bulky or dainty, 3.5mm shafts. The hook angle is good - it looked a little too open in photos. The case is sturdy but doesn't roll up, and this latest version doesn't have clear pockets for visibility although the ends of the handles are somewhat faintly marked. They also do a 250mm set. I did like the compound/complex shape some others do, but on balance went for these. I thought the Tektons were a bit too long, handles a bit cheap feeling (I have their mini pry bars) for the price compared to these, and no clear warranty worldwide. PB Swiss was also a contender but many reports here of them being a bit brittle and fragile.

It’s become a habit to meet the Snap-On man at my buddies bodyshop when he stops every other Thursday.

Today I went on to buy a short 1/4” wobble-plus extension I lost out of my set and came off with that, a pair of slip-joint needle nose pliers and a 1/4” drive deep socket set.

Just a couple little Nanos this time...

I like the aluminum rails, but not the clips. They hold the adaptors too tightly yet slide back and forth on the rail just by tilting it.
Just looked at those on the Snap-On truck.
My friend that owns the body shop bought a set.
Snap-On man said that was the last set he had, they have been flying off the truck.

That sounds like a very expensive habit! I'll stick to gambling, drugs, bars and houses of ill repute--probably cheaper.

Where's the thread?
It comes in about page 5 of my pole barn thread.

Maybe, I'll start one just on the car.

Not sure about anything in the last 10ish years but all my Park spoke wrenches have the size stamped on the bottom:

I don't need them, but I'm a sucker for green. Do you have any other picks/hooks to visually compare with?

Klein is killing their brand to meet Lowe’s price points.
I'm not sure what Klein is thinking but a couple months back I reached out to my wholesaler about some Modbox stuff. They informed me some of these items were only available via your typical retails store and not available thru a electrical wholesalers, in my case - Graybar. What kind off nonsense is that?.
