New here, though I have been lurking for a long while. Thought I'd finally start a thread as I have been working on my 22' x 24' space. Forgive me, but this will take me a couple of posts to get it up to speed.

Bought my house back in 2021, the garage had a new electric panel, but only two plugs, and two light sockets. It had a new roof, new siding, new garage door opener, but the interior was a long way from finished. Not entirely bad, because that allowed me to finish it how I like.

Here are some before photos of the garage and the '55 Bel Air that inhabits it.

The electrical I got done last year. I added two 2-gangs to the side walls, 2 4-gangs to the back wall, two LED tube lights, two exterior coach lights with dusk till dawn bulbs, and relocated the sockets towards the front to give me adequate light and electrical.

This year I insulated the walls, and put up 1/2" OSB. While OSB doesn't look as nice as drywall, it's more durable. I do use this garage to work on my pile of parts so I wanted something that wouldn't dent when I drop a jack against it, for instance. Painted it a light gray after hanging.

For floors I went the epoxy route, a dark gray with a metallic marble flake.

I need to figure out if I'm going natural gas or electric for heat, that's next. I haven't insulted the ceiling yet either.

Nice space! The 55's not bad either! If you live somewhere with cold winter, you should make the ceiling and insulation above a priority. If you haven't, check out the 12-Gauge Garage https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/threads/the-12-gauge-garage.55006/post-11077213 to see what Jack Olsen has done with a space similar, but smaller, than your's. Best Wishes! Keep us posted.

Hey Lou, appreciate the kind words. Looking forward to reading that thread later.

So, I don't really want to lose the height with a ceiling. I was going to just staple up insulation to the back side of the roof when the time comes. I was trying to decide between natural gas, electric, and a wood stove before I do that.

Currently I just use a space heater when it's in the ~20's-40's. Below 20 I don't venture out.

Clean and organized -- good use of space. Great metamorphosis.
I agree with Lou - 12-Gauge's garage is THE smaller, ultimate-use-of-space garage on Garage Journal. Lots to emulate.

I must comment on the US flag on your back wall: the blue field filed with stars ought to be in the upper left-hand corner when displayed as yours. Thanks for your patriotic support.

Thanks for the heads up on that! I will correct it. Also, thank you for your service.

So, as the summer heat sets in I'm realizing I should have put two LED ceiling fans in when I wired instead of just moving the light sockets.

So I bought these off Amazon not expecting much, but hoping two of them would move some air. Save your money, they don't do anything. (18" version.)

So, storage. I feel like I can never have enough storage. And come this winter I need to wedge a second hot rod in here with room to get around it to work on it. Bench space I'm good with, I just need more storage to keep my work space clear.

I added a shed this Spring. Local guy built it and dropped it off for $1600, total steal. I do wish I'd went bigger, however. I painted it to match the garage and immediately filled it. It's filled with yard tools and kids yard toys.

I'm trying to keep all the storage contained to this wall. I added a storage cabinet for the small stuff. I think another shelf, higher up for less frequently used items is a good idea. Anyone else have any thoughts/ideas?

The wall to my left in this photo needs to remain clear. I am going to put the car pictured above on skates and push it up against that wall.
