I was looking for some ultra-low profile sockets and came across these Tite-Reach Extension Clamps. They are useful when you just need to hold on to a nut or fastener. Also handy as a small parts vice.IMG_0260 - Copy.JPGIMG_0270.JPG
I'm going to look for these. I've always used my cable hose clamp pliers to hold a nut or bolt in a pinch, but something that doesn't flex would be far more useful.

Thank you for that. Now I'm depressed it's $28,901.45. LOL
I typed in my zip code and it told me to get the hell off the website.

It's $2600 something. Lots of used units all seem to be from Japan and mostly 1 seller. Most of them are $800 or less.
In the past somewhere I read that those were a different voltage than the units that get shipped to the USA with a following comment that it didn't matter to the machine.
Other comments that I've seen is the cutting chain is in the $500 range so I just "bit the bullet".
There's a lot on YouTube with a simple "makita chain mortising machine".

Those guys in Japan got the children's first Japanese traditional woodworker's tool set when they were kids and hated those two chisels, too!

Japan uses 100v and 200v electrical systems in different parts of the country.
Some people think a transformer to change the voltage is necessary to use the Japanese spec units.
My guess, is that Makita probably uses wire and insulation that can handle 120v current just fine, and that the only difference will be slight differences in the output speed.
At least that is my understanding.

Tsunoda Plastic Cutting Pliers PN-125 (135mm)
After much exploration and weigh-up, I went for this one as it suits my uses. There was practically nothing in it between this and the Knipex 72 01 140, just yellow to distinguish and a bit cheaper. A short length of heat-stretched 15mm hosepipe fits nicely over the end to store it shut.

Knipex Universal Tweezers 92 84 18 (126mm, tip 1x0.5mm)
I wanted something precise but not too dainty, so chose this one for the tip profile & size. There are cheaper tweezers, but Knipex made the effort to put up detailed photos and measurements of their tips (if only they did with their pliers like Tsunoda do). Came with a plastic tip storage cap.

All of these + were included in a pair of boxes I bought over the weekend. Basically free since the boxes only came to $60.

Ordered a new 1/4" drive 8mm universal impact. Not expecting much from Sunex, I think it's funny I got one that the package says "Made in Taiwan" when the socket is clearly one of the new Made in China ones.

I don't want anything to do with Sunex these days and I hesitate to order anything from them because I don't know what I'm actually going to get in return. I really don't like that and I don't think it's fair to the customers either.

They are different tools, depending on COO.
