The project is a success, the switch turns both the saw motor on as well as the switched receptacle on
the rear of the saw for the Shop Vac to pull away the sawdust.

Two of my very nice neighbors helped me get the Table Saw off the Hydraulic Lift Cart.

Some Days Life is Good.

Out front of the garage. Washed the Volvo. I have to repair the rear window. It's breaking free of the top again.

Side trip.
I mentioned to a friend I was "thinking" of selling the Volvo. Maybe get an EV. She mentioned it to her husband. He called his brother and told him I was selling it. His brother came over, while I was eating dinner. Asked if I would text after I was done with dinner.
Asked to test drive it. Told him not at night. Asked to the following weekend. I said OK. Came over the next weekend. Test drove it.
He asked me how much. I told him I just mentioned that I was "thinking" of selling it. I hadn't decided yet.
I would have felt some what bad but they were so hell bent. They just lost their ability to negotiate with me.

Assembled another set of shelves for the shed. Continued the garage to shed migration.

Finally assembled my mini bike after waiting on parts and took it for a test drive. It's kinda sketchy but a blast to ride. Motor is definitely too big and needs foot pegs and a kick stand. It doesn't take much throttle to lift the front wheel.

The new parts came in today! But... we're canning tomorrow and Friday is paid holiday, so Saturday it is. No big deal--I hate the big tourist weekends and this is the biggest, so hunkering in the shop surrounded by tools will be my happy place.

Of note: This is the first time EVER in our small, off-the-beaten-path county that an over-night shipment has shown up on the actual next day! Things are changing for little Wallowa County!

While I was finishing up, I was tagged in another forum as the go-to for getting one-off parts done. They're definitely not wrong as I'm making parts every other day for people.

Member happened to just live about 1-2 hours away so he swung by and I made some mounts for his splash guard.

Round 1 of the CV Axle swap is over...decided to declare victory for the day. After the CV axle came out. This on my wife's 2006 Envoy Denali. Needs to be done so the truck can go to the body shop on Monday. Hope to have it back for her drive to Des Moines for high school reunion and see her Mom.

Different experience than mine. I've used Sta-Bil for years and years for my lawnmower gas. Can't say that it's helped but I've never had an issue. Original carb on my Honda mower from 2011. Gas sits in it year-round.

I run 90-something octane non-ethanol in all my smaller machines that sit for extended periods. It's 30 cents more a gallon and they fire right up on whatever they've had in the bowls n tanks after months of idleness. And some of them run way better on the hi-test.

I've been using SeaFoam since Covid "stay at home started in 2020 in the rigs we don't drive daily (most of the) THe t-bird has passed smog cleaner than it ever did on 9 month old 10% ethanol gas, and I just recently refilled it after jsut 2 week short of a year. no issues.

Guaranteed gas without it would not even run...

I purchase the non-ethanol in the winter for snowmobiles. End of season finds sleds with about 10 gallons in each of the 2 sleds. And there could be as much as 3 - 5 gallon jugs of same. It gets used in the gas powered lawn mowers, Troy-Bilt rototiller, weedeaters and John Deere 316 with dedicated rototiller. By end of summer season I'm back to having to fill sleds and 5 gallon jugs.

My old (cheap) 3x21 belt sander is about worn out. Motor is fine, but the belt no longer tracks. It either runs in to the wall side, or shoots off the open side, there is no middle ground.

Dad has been cleaning out the house, and gave a couple of belt sanders to my brother. I should have taken them, but that was before I gave up up on my 3x21. So I picked them up from my brother.

First up, a Craftsman 4x24. The little dust bag it came with wasn’t going to work for me, so a quick conversion to vacuum dust collection:

I’m back on the project to strip and refinish all of the doors in the house. Took down the next three, removed the hardware. This closet door had a few different hang hooks installed over the years. Patched the holes with some dowels and glue. Also glued a delaminated spot by one of the holes, and weighted it down.

Sanded (36/80/120) the other two doors. Then glued and clamped a couple of spots where the laminate had come loose from the door structure.

I can only do three doors at a time. The “clothesline” I set up to hang them from while staining runs out of working room at three.

Ya, non ethanol is the way to go, especially on smaller engines.

Waiting for the roofer to show up to give me an estimate on removing a couple chimneys and replacing the metal roof where the holes will be.

While I'm waiting, I'm still unpacking. Man, nothing like moving into a smaller place to make you feel like a total hoarder. I keep telling myself this is what I wanted though; more land and less house to maintain. But even my "great purge" wasn't enough. I gotta get rid of more stuff.

I plan on building a new shop soon, but I gotta be stuffed into this little garage for probably at least another year. Oh well, more purgin' will do me some good.

I get that but aot of guys (& girls) have gone fast and with a C4.... I just figured with smaller transmission/clearance issues ..... been there with a 302 swap in a Ranger... Would be a big plus, along with a removable bell housing for mock up and such....

I think it's some kind of rock crawler n mud bogger. Wouldn't endurance over speed be important?

Not so much speed, but the power it takes to make that speed... HP & torque. ....power that comes on relatively quick rather slowly powering up and over a rock or incline.

I really don't know.... curious as to what the real reason is, myself.

Today--after lawn mowing--I'm in the cheap-*** furniture restoration business:

I took both the end frames apart yesterday and reglued the dowel joints. One of the stiles was split in half lengthwise, so that got glued up, too. Left in the clamps overnight, they're ready to go.

Everything's done but the waiting:

Finish is Cabot Australia Timber Oil. Not my choice.

I still have to reattach the restraint straps.

Of course, the bosses took one look at this and asked me to do the other five... I wonder how much these cost new from Ikea?
