I had this cabinet installed over my work bench when we first moved in last August. I found a double set and this has been sitting under my pipe restoration/fly-tying table ever since. I could use the space under the table, so we hung it this afternoon. It was only 96 degrees and about 85% humidity, so I'm glad that I waited for a cool work day. The cabinet below goes to the Restore.

Just some Chevys in their natural state :ROFLMAO: . Tried to play pit crew today. Decided to take all 4 wheels and tires off the ranch truck to take them in and get new ones. Used the old devilbiss impact which made life a little easier. Had the use a prybar and the 40oz ball peen to get the wheels to break loose from the hubs. Went to move the maroon truck to load them in the back and the battery died. Now we’ve gotta go get it replaced. It just never ends. All this was after spending the morning in the field dropping the tank on our big John Deere tractor to change the in tank filters.

Maybe a lug nut on the rear just in case that drum decides to pop off?

very nice project..i was in a very old diner in East St Louis Mo some years ago and it was very original inside with similar ceiling tiles…the whole diner was a time capsule right down to the dish ware
Would there have been a hoist in that open area of ceiling?
Not much attic space up there so I think it was a glass sky light that was covered some time mid century. I plan to put LED lights up in it to mimic the effect of daylight. Might be the next project in there for me.

Thanks for the comments.

New shocks going on the Silverado 1500. Have bought other parts from Detroit Axle with no issues. Got the front and rears for $100 on Amazon. No off road, or winter driving. Mostly highway and rural roads. Not a work truck. Just can't bring myself to use the bushings that came with the new fronts. I mocked one up and it barely covers the hole. Dorman makes OEM sizes, $10 each. Be here tomorrow.

Put the generator away (had a power outage on Thursday) and the extension cords. Still need to stretch the cords back out and learn how to roll them up properly.
**Lessons learned, have it all together and accessible for an emergency. Generator was buried with "need to find a home" stuff and the long extension cords were in the garage.

Organized some items I bought to then resell, as they were on the ground and in a spot where I need to bring up some other stuff to sell.

Removed the pet hammock/footwell filler for the avatar guy. Need to wash the hammock and redo the footwell filler a little better. The boy has a nice large area to lay down back there since this is his commuter car. Was very nice for him when we were roadtripping 6 hours monthly each way in 22/23 and now on the way to and from daycare, plus any other trips with him. He only goes in the new car on a long trip where we need to use the wife's SUV.

Planning my pegboard wall project (20' wide, 8' tall) and future workbench (4' by 8'). The workbench will be overkill at first, but would rather build oversized and then downsize later instead of needing to upsize later.

Thanks for this picture, I have that same washtub in my laundry rook and am often frustrated by the thin steel legs. I will be disconnecting it and wall mounting it very soon, might create a pull out tray making it easy for me to reach things in the back.

Working on my new expensive Cyclone Rake XL, extremely well packed, extremely well made. Already made mistakes in mounting of parts but that is what you get when you do not read the manual .....one of my bad habits. As usual with manuals it could be better but not terrible. Got most of it together. The rake is heavy due to the 8 hp motor/battery which is yet to be mounted so I will finish it outside.

Mustered up some energy to tackle the loft shelf. Nothing particularly heavy up there, but I did manage to consolidate a bunch of stuff into the back 6' that previously was just scattered up there. We've officially had our keys for 7 months now, and it's been slow going getting everything sorted out from our hasty move. Having this area organized better will at least give me some sense of peace in here and allow me to get some stuff off of the other storage shelves that live in the SW corner.

It was here when we bought the house. I had the tub in our Maryland house but it was on legs. They were a PITA, sturdy enough, but stuff would constantly get behind them. I was very lucky to find a suitable home here in Louisiana, with a similar size garage, that also had a laundry tub installed.

Did a little cleaning. Putting things back where I won't remember. So I go looking for them later.
But I'll have something to post about in the future.

Pressed the go on the printer. Waited for 5 hours and discovered it ran out of filament. It was 98% finished so it's close enough for this use.

It is a handle for the resin printer. I've been thinking about this for some time. Not sure why I didn't do it sooner.

Sorted, flung, put stuff away, gettng some space to better organize.

More of this with no bodily harm done.

Hit a milestone: I finally got all the drawers in a 12 drawer Equipto style 3X5 card file from near WWII emptied of the junk I squired with it, it was all sorted restocked "Dad's hardware store" (mine..) with the usable stuff flung the **** no one should have been keeping. I've already repurposed a couple of drawers, but now I can get one of my other similar cabs that is overflowing sorted out.

I had a nice breeze through the shop today, so I started on the rest of the drawers for the cabinets.

Here's the three I did today with the spacer rails for the slides.

I ran out of material. Only a few more to go. I only bought enough material to do a few prototypes. I need more 1by to finish things up.

I'm still looking for the battery powered drill I put in an "out of the way" place when finishing a recent project. When put in that as of now forgotten place I said "Self, you should just put this in the cabinet now or you'll never remember this place". Yep, that was back in March, still looking. But I did buy a new one to replace it.

It cooled off some late this afternoon. I went into the shop looked at the thermometer and decided my projects could wait. I’ve really got to finish wiring this fall and get my ventilation going in the big portion of the shop and mini split in the 20x20 portion.

True, I can only wish. But when you have two separate households stored in the garage and too many people moving things around looking for things they need. Nothing remains in one place for too long.
That's why I bring tools in a rubber bin, do my project, load them up, then take them away again, to be placed in their designated storage spots. Then the next project starts.
