Came across a few recently. Anything else out there? Just for interest. Not really interested in non-tool merchandise like keyrings, mugs, and hats.

Many do this style of bottle opener, e.g. Wiha

Knipex did a more interesting bottle opener

Hazet also do an unconventional bottle opener:

There's the. PB Swiss Cappuccino Cup & Saucer Set on drpd.cc
:)

But really it's interesting to consider why a fork is a tool while a cup isn't.

There is a definition on Wikipedia:
The external employment of an unattached or manipulable attached environmental object to alter more efficiently the form, position, or condition of another object, another organism, or the user itself, when the user holds and directly manipulates the tool during or prior to use and is responsible for the proper and effective orientation of the tool.

To be honest, my fav. takeaway from your thread is the mention of KA-BAR. I looked through their site on break.

I won't order the PB cup because I got an awesome stainless cup for Father's Day.

Most of these “tools” seem to be novelty / promotional items given away at trade shows rather than serious tools sold by their respective manufacturers.

I guess there’s a collector interest for most anything out there with a brand name attached to it, though.

I don't have any pics to add, but I like that Knipex Cobra bottle opener! I haven't seen that before.

I have some 10+ year old craftsman drivers with the clear handles like above and no vomit smell. OTOH, I bought some PB Swiss drivers 15 years ago, and they smelled like puke right out of the box- so I returned them. Because yeah, every time I use a screwdriver, a premium priced screwdriver, I want to smell puke. Said no one.

IMHO, they only thing wrong with this toy is that the wrench should have been 10mm.

(The Snap-On socket-ish looking thingy next to the cozy is a bottle opener as well.)

And the small Knipex fork.

Kind regards,

I had and used those. The set that came with the wooden socket block to store them in.
Cleaned them up and sold them because after a couple of months they were cutting in to the laminated layer that protects from chips and breakage on USA Made Correlle plates.
The socket bottle opener was trash and did not last long.

I suppose you're going to tell me this doesn't count, right?
Vaughan Novelty Company (Chicago) souvenir bottle opener.jpg
Did a general hand tool brand make that National Park souvenir bottle opener?

I would say that it doesn’t count unless you know something I don’t.

Tool or not and whatever the type of brand, it's all good and interesting. Just the nuance of how people (me) say things is lost online.

How about general tools made (or rebranded) by non-tool brands? I saw a Toyota hammer on here a little while ago.

I suppose that depends upon how you are defining "tool".
By definition, "tool" is any device which is used to assist in performing a task.
Ergo: a spoon is a tool, as is a wrench or socket.
So while it is admittedly not "tool" in the context of what you might find in a mechanical repair shop, it is unquestionably a tool.

Not every household contains a screwdriver or a hammer or a wrench, but every household contains a can opener. And a bottle opener.

It was manufactured by Vaughan Novelty Company. Mr. Harry Vaughan was the gentleman who figured out how to make a can opener that didn't slice open fingers.

Vaughan / Vaughan Novelty Manufacturing Company, 3211 Carroll Ave., Chicago, IL (later Vaughan Mfg. Co.) / est. 1910 / bottle and can opener / patent D44226 Jun 7 1913 & D46762 Dec 8 1914 Harry L.
