I don't use chrome, 12-point or Craftsman... But 30mm is a common socket at Caterpillar for all kinds of equipment. This week I used mine for a bucket cutting edge and a coupler on a hydraulic hammer.

I was actually serious - wonder what people are using 30mm deep sockets for.
Shop press bolts by ATC. Anybody else?

Atlas Copco rotary screw compressor fill plugs are 30mm. I can't remember if the GA 160's or 250's use them. I've also used it on a Sandvik screen plant though neither required a 12 point chrome deep well and I know I don't own one. I do have 1/2" drive 6 point impact deep and shallow and maybe a chrome 12 point shallow in 30mm.

I have 4 30mm impact sockets in my main metric drawer and 2 in my cart.

I do not know if I have ever owned a chrome one.

The 30mm 12pt axle socket and a couple (3/8” drive and 1/2” drive) 12mm 12pt impacts are the only 12pt impacts that I keep in my main metric drawer.

Personally I do not understand why they make 12 point sockets in such large sizes. The big 12 point sockets are much more prone to slippiing
