They look medical, exactly for what I'm not sure. What is the name I can see on the handle? Any other markings or numbers?

I just got this ratchet cleaned, greased and put back together and I am more than pleased. When I got it it would not move in either direction and neither would the selector switch. It was just the old grease. Dawn wouldn't even cut it. Very smooth ratchet now and glad to have saved an early one. Should have taken pictures but it was interesting to see this early ratchet apart as it is a different design/style of spring compared to later versions of this ratchet.

Found it and it fits in the Lufkin 4" square. A little loose but I might be able to adjust it better. Either way it doesn't fall out at least and appears good enough as far as square. I tried lining up the straight edge with both rules to show they were all in line but it wasn't great in the pic since the stampings kept getting blurred out with the light.Two options, the diemakers square

2-1/2" like in the catalog too but no name on the rule on first look, it has some black oxide that makes the fine stamping a bit difficult to make out.
Edit: it also fits in the 12" although it's slightly off square by literally a hair or two which could be due to debris and it's only around 3/4" max. It sits too low to use beyond exterior square while in 4" square it could be fine as interior square as well since it's flush. The notch is the same between them all but 4" square bottoms out on 2-1/2" rule while 12" square has more range of movement on the screw.
I present: Your tool versus the tool your wife says not to worry about. Same base, different measures. (Also not sure if this is too far for the forum's humour but I think it's within spec, if not I can remove this paragraph)

Vise grip will not get a bite on the bit. Do just a bit of grinding on two sides of the bit. Grab it with the vise grip and use a pipe wrench on the chuck with the vise grip in opposition for leverage. Then soak the chuck in oil.

Since we needed to stock up on a few Costco items and the nearest Costco is in Carson City, NV I looked for any likely estate and yard sales in the route we would travel to get there. The first sale was a regular yard sale we frequent in Meyers, CA. I spotted two pairs of pliers and noticed the Sexauer branding on the water pump type pliers and saw that the other groove joint pliers were Diamond. 
The next sale was an estate sale in Minden , NV. There wasn’t a single tool to be found although my wife found a few items of interest. On my final check of the garage I spotted a brass hose nozzle for my ever growing basement collection.
Another sale in Minden was the second day of an estate sale. The tools had been pretty well picked over but I found a few pieces. I haven’t had time to do any close inspection but here they are. The socket is New Britain and the upper #1 Phillips is Stanley. I didn’t see any markings on the oiler at first glance. My wife spotted the Monkey Wards paint can opener.
The first Carson City estate sale was a bust but the second had advertised tools, tools tools and they actually had quite a decent selection. We brought these home. The Kennedy carry box included the tray.
I particularly liked the smaller #426 Channellocks.
The Xcelite tools were in good condition as well.
We picked up our Costco items, filled up the gas tank with less expensive NV gas and headed for home. The Costco rotisserie chicken aroma tortured us all the way home but provided a tasty lunch seconds after unloading the car.

Five minuets down the road to my local car boot sale this morning gained me these four DOEs.
13 x 17mm Heyco W. Germany Mercedes-Benz.
14 x 15mm Hazet 350.
1/2" x 9/16" and 5/8" x 3/4" Telcon Cu Be non-sparking and non-magnetic.
The Hazet and the two Telcons cost 50p after I had sorted through a canvas bag of assorted tools. Left behind various Britool, King **** and Gordon spanners.
I paid £1 for the Heyco together with a couple of other pieces from a different seller.
Scorching morning walk at the bootsale today, scored well too! So what did I get?
8” adjustable Bahco wrench is SAAB branded (I’ve seen Volvo ones before) and has a tyre lever cast into the end of it. Mine for a paltry £1 ($1.35). The 10” Eclipse Sheffield made saw blades were double that for the bunch!
The compact Record drill vice I’m very pleased with as it seems a very rarely or carefully used vice. Just a few marks on the face. Model 412 and dimensions as shown. Barcode on the box (but no website address) so at a guess between the early 80’s and the late 90’s when Irwin took over.
£10 ($13.50) firm and I was happy to pay that.

In case you were not aware be careful with the Be (Beryllium) CU copper, as any dusts are highly toxic to breathe. Non abrasive cleaning only, and dispose of any residue.

I had this nice Snap-On 9/32 set, bought from a flea vendor I knew. Kept it wrapped in something like a plastic bread bag on a chair inside the house, never extreme heat or cold right there. One day I go look at it and WTF? I didn’t remember that set being rusty like that. Darn amber kiss of death. Worse than the Stinxcelite white plague.

Found this Millers Falls 701 yesterday and couldn’t let it sit. This is absolutely pristine and for all intents, never used. These may be actually made by Goodell-Pratt as I’ve seen some wartime literature on how they saved time & increased production by putting the decimals on the thimble. Either way, proud to add this mic to my collection. Very light and incredibly smooth movement.

$23 brought home a somewhat rust set of Allen hexkeys in pouch, a full set of Bonney Zenel H-series miniatre DOEs with bonus Zenel E-28 wrench, Bonney spanner wrench, Bonney combo, MF eggbeater for parts, 2/3-full Stanley cutter blades, unmarked OD protractor head, Bridgeport slot screwdriver, Wizard slipjoints, Vlchek flying-V slipjoints, Utica 511-10 slipjoints, Carlson pat apd for parrot pliers, unknown small boxjoint chainnose pliers.
Stopped at Wind Gap indoor flea market - meh. Then we went to a diner.

Had kind of given up for a long while, but decided to give it another whirl. Grabbed hold of the bit with my bolt cutters, gave it some heat, and smacked the cutter with a hammer. After a couple of good swings out it came
I'll give the chuck a good cleaning and lube and hopefully it won't be such a bear to work with.

I snagged this very nice GE vintage fridge on marketplace for FREE. Thanks to the guy before me that wasted his time. It was bought new around the 40s he said and been in the same place in the basement ever since. He had already brought it up for the previous guy lol. I just backed up and loaded it up. Does anyone know if you have to wait to plug these in after they have been on their side??? I’m waiting to plug it in. I can already taste the garage beers!

Yes, give it a day upright to get the refrigerant where it belongs. I've done this a few times and always had good results.

The "retirement lamp" on the saw often goes for a good sum. You got a deal.
It probably would have come with me, too, but for the chipped cutter and the seller kept running off. The person he left to mind the table disavowed any knowledge of pricing and finally called the guy on a phone to come take my money.
I’ve seen that grip pattern elsewhere, and now I’ll know the mfr.

I picked these items today at an Estate Sale for $20. When I walked into the garage, I saw a mirror that looked like the passenger mirror for my 62 Impala. Mine is floppy. Sure enough it was and I just went from there.

From this sale, yesterday and today there were at least 50 piles like mine that left with the other pickers. I got there late yesterday and heard of the epic Snap On hauls. I don't think many knew today the owners were bringing out crate after crate box after box from the basement so I only had to deal with about 10 other tool guys. First day was garage only.

That's a cool box. Nice finds!Wonder of wonders, there were three interesting sales in my neck of the woods, and two of them didn't disappoint.

The first sale I hit was run by a woman I know, and she gave me a great deal. Here I found the 3/4hp electric motor (untested), pressed steel socket set, 9/32" socket driver, pencil sharpener burrs, Snap-on screw driver, and brace drill chuck for $5. The second stop was a family run sale, and they were trying to scratch every two nickels together. A lot of interesting things, but they wanted way to much for most of them. I picked up the Duro/Indestro braker bar and Walden flextension for $1. Finally, another family run sale that had no pics in the ad, but mentioned a full sized shop. Well, it was full of mostly cheap tools, but I did manage to find a bunch of small taps, 10-32 all they way down to 2-56, a Starrett box with a couple pieces of HSS steel, and a few US made end mills, again paying $5.
So, a nice day for $11 total.

1945 RCA radio that someone added a Bluetooth adaptor to. It has a switch on the back to flip it from AM to BT. All the internals look to be original including the speaker so idk how its wired in!
