Picked up some goodies with a Zoro 20% off coupon

Koken O2 sensor socket. I have a 7/8-22mm one from awhile ago and it’s always just a bit loose on the sensor since everything I have is 22mm. Figured I’d go for this one as I’m replacing my buddy’s on his 1st gen Tundra.

Capri super thin open end wrench set. Impulse/luxury buy. Never needed them but always wanted them.

Maxxeon cyclops light. Watched a few YouTube videos where they swear by them. For some reason the orange one is cheaper than anywhere else.

I bought a fairly comprehensive screw driver set and an Ernst organizer for it. I’m gonna do my damnedest to keep this set intact. IMG_1481.jpeg

I’ve bought other screw driver sets but I generally lose one or two and they become scattered to the wind. The only size this set has that I didn’t already have in one shape or form was a #4 Phillips. Honestly don’t know if I’ve ever had a need for that size.

They are not but I fought with corporate to make it so because their own coupon shows a socket extension in the picture. They agreed it was misleading.
One of the other ICON deals in the spring showed their Plierswrench but it didn’t ring up that way. After calling a manager over, he tried but agreed it was misleading so he honored the deal.

Snap-on KRSC2407 that I picked up off marketplace. Needs a little grinding and re-spray on the lower edge, I'll do that when I get a garage back at home...counting down those days. Thinking I'll replace all 4 casters with swivels to make it a better cart.

Snap-on ATECH3FR300B 1/2" TechAngle to replace an older grey one.

The 1B is always the 1st wrench I grab when I need one , I then use the NR7 if I need a 2nd wrench that size or if space is too tight for the offset of the 1B. I really haven't found a wrench as nice to use in general as the 1B.

I still need to get a set of 7 XL as the 7s are sometimes a tad short. A whike ago , I needed to apply a fair amount of torque , and doing so on a short wrench isn't nice ones hands. I didn't have my 1B yet.
Yeah, it’s really difficult to choose one. The length of the XL plus the extra girth make them incredibly comfortable to use but the 1b and its offset just works so dang well. The 7s are the last ones I reach for but that is due to those wrenches having a lot of manufacturing issues, like bends and warps, twists and stuff.
The Hazet 600LG are a little longer than the Godore XL wrenches.
10mm- 600lg-210mm
10mm-xl-190mm

13mm-600lg-245mm
13mm-xl-225mm

but they are both good wrenches.
I’ve been looking at adding some Hazet wrenches to my rotation. They seem well regarded. I’ve been rocking Stahlwille and Gedore with the Gedore being my favorite wrenches so far. Everyone at work rubs me for all my German wrenches but it’s really hard to find a better standard wrench with no extra gimmicks or anti-slip designs.

Got this tool for twist back brake calipers that Toyota seems to be using more and more of these days. I hate them so much. I have a set at home but had to get a set for work too because I’ve borrowed this way more than three times. Only one guy in the shop has one now there is 2 of us that do haha. This is just a cheap $37 one from eBay branded Orion Motor Tech this is the exact one my coworker has. It came with gloves and hooks. Gloves eh not really something I’d use for brakes but still good to have and those hangers I’m always losing so also good to have extras. Didn’t see any reason to spend big bucks on this.

Just keep an eye on those customer cars, and someday those hooks will return to you after a long journey.

"Customer states clanging noise on large bumps."

I once had a minor clank for a few years on potholes, it was my own 7mm box end wrench being held onto a bleeder ****** by the rubber dust cap. I think one of my brake hanger hooks came back that way, too, and rusty. Black is not a good color for these hooks.

Something happened to me the other day that's never happened to me before , I rounded an Allenkey.
I honestly do not recall what Allen keys I had back home but never gave them much thought. They must have been good because I never rounded one , ever.
The only Allenkeys I currently own are a set of husky that I got in the 290pc tool set, they're horrible things.

I got myself a set of Gedore metric allenkeys and I also bought a longer Ampro set which I'm waiting for and those are made from s2. Now I need a decent set of SAE allenkeys - any suggestion ?

My German car past didn't process this at first, I'm so used to the Allen headed bolt's hole stripping -- soft metal! You rounded the key?!

My first thought when it comes to buying hex/Allen and Torx tools is Bondhus -- made in USA, good quality, fair prices.

Harry Epstein's has an abundance of Bondus and Eklind, and if you only need a 7/16th, they have a French offering by a very reputable maker of Allen keys:

Hultafors wrecking bars 108 15" (38cm) flat and 109 20" (52cm)
The bottom one (109) is a bit of a luxury but the profiles of the ends, the fulcrum, and the size are just right.

I believe both are made in China (no markings/labels anymore, website says "designed in Sweden"). The 109 is made from Swedish boron steel, which will have been on a 25,000 mile round trip.

Looks like I am going to start buying more tools after hardly buying anything the last couple of years

Didn't know these existed- very cool. I initially went the homemade route with a 9V battery, but that didn't work 100% of the time for me, so then I changed it to a pack of 8X AAA batteries, which I've had no issues with. But, that is a much nicer solution than my Frankenstein creation

If you guys are on the TIK-TOK check out Check Engine Chuck’s load tester. Mine came in today and i am going to put it into use this week.

I have been using the Joes load tester unit as well as the Jarhead Diagnostics load lights - (do not recommend Jarhead as that boy needs a lesson in proper crimping!!)

I guess you don't use many antifreeze testers?

Unless they gave their Chinese manufacturer the recipe for their Swedish boron steel, and that recipe won't be coming back.

I don't know of "Swedish" being a well-known flavour of boron steel, so I assumed it referred to the origin.

It may be this from SSAB, they have sites (impressive) in the Nordics and US. I doubt they'd hand it over.

This is a great set. I bought mine recently to do the rear brakes on my Malibu, and my wife's Toyota Rav4 will need new brakes before winter. Amazon gives you the choice of a red, blue or black blow molded case. The caliper hangers and gloves are a nice addition.

I jumped on that HD deal last week for the stubby impact with batteries for $160. Decided to use the opportunity and see what 3/8 impact life is like these days. My last 3/8 Milwaukee impact gun is still kicking around, I used it only a handful of times. But this one is supposed to be a beast once you add the 5.0 battery… so I’ll be watching for a deal on that.

Then it became an excuse to get Koken semi-deep impacts 3/8.. 10-19 for now.

Also in today…

Expanded my torx socket options with Koken long boy 3/8 (3025-100 series) and the z-series 1/4 rail set. This came after realizing all my 1/4 torx sockets were security type, which are terribly weak.

I had to see how this Tone reversible ratchet wrench with internal ring works on the Astro 3/8 Nano. I took one for the team here; it’s not a good combo. The ring is too far to one side for this use.

If you use it with the socket on the switch side, it does engage (not real snug but it does what you need). But when you put the socket in the side you’ll generally use, the snap ring winds up at the very end of the nano socket. Whether it has any hold at all is varying per socket. Some have a little and some drop right out.

But in other news, it still seems like a decent ratchet wrench.. so maybe I’ll finish a set of them so the 17 isn’t too lonely.

Working good so far. 5V/2A power source, Has a buzzer that goes off if not enough power from a source or the sources battery is getting low.

Ehh, despite marketing claims, there aren't any secret material formulas that last more than a week, especially today when you don't even need to send the part to a lab for a chemical analysis; now you can just point a PMI (positive material identifier) at it. And of course, the Chinese can also do chemical analyses of materials in a lab. Saying that, they somehow cannot make rubber parts that last like an OE part does for me :ROFLMAO:

Not really a tool but I am pretty confident that Zenex makes the Matco, Mac, and Summit Racing hand soap. I made this discovery while finding an alternative for Goop which was my go to. The waterless cleaner itself is pretty good but its twice the price of Goop and the crooked label is a let down. Still I’ll give it a try.

HF had the 30% hangtag right in front of the 1/4 meme kit and did not honor it. Dude went over and took the tag off. I guess they are right because there are no sockets in the kit. They also said that they could not get the new bigger kits in. Kinda funny that they had empty pegs in 2 different areas and claimed they had sold none?

Bought this test lead kit & screwdriver with my student discountIMG_0885.jpeg

The test leads + accessories are high quality sh!t for sure. Sourced from S. Korea, I’m guessing it’s a rebrand. The soft handle screwdriver is a test run, to see if I want the hard- or soft-handled screwdriver set. Smart guy that I am, I only bought the soft handle and not the hard handle to compare it with LOL. Guess I’ll have to throw a hard handle in on the next order.

Guys, if you use "insert full image" (or "insert all") after uploading your images, we can actually see a decent size picture instead of tiny thumbnails of your pictures...

They are attachments, if you click on them it goes big in the gallery and you can zoom and scroll etc, and speed through all the images attached to the thread etc. Its sort of like attaching an image to an email instead of embedding it in the text. Makes it smaller and quicker to scroll past for people who dont care about it, but anyone who wants to see it can just click.

Different strokes for different folks. If people really prefer embedded attachments in the text, I’m not opposed to doing that.
