Ignore Thread?

I know we have the ability to ignore certain posters. It’s helpful and I have a few characters on my ignore list.

Expanding on that, I don’t see the ability to select “Ignore Thread”.

Can we get this added?

When I log in each time I have it set to what’s new. There are some threads that I have less than zero interest in and would prefer they just simply fade away instead of popping up on the top of the list.

Other forums I’m on have this.

That does not prevent the thread from being seen, just what the OP posts.

No, it will get rid of the thread entirely if they are the original poster

I do this with the WTF thread

But if the OP is a good guy and his/her thread gets hijacked, then instead of simply never seeing the hijacked thread, I never see the good poster again elsewhere?

Yes, that would be the downside.

Yeah, I know. Its just activity that I don't want to scroll through or get sucked into and since the OP is banned, I lose nothing besides that thread by ignoring him

I propose the site add a Get Off my Lawn (Old Men Yelling at Clouds) forum we can vote threads into.

Unfortunately, I think it was an oversight on the part of the software developers, but it's the same on the other site I use - I can only ignore users, not threads.

I agree, seems pretty simple to employ but I have no Idea how this forum software works.

Hide thread?

I know we can ignore specific people, but is there anyway to ignore or hide a whole thread? Sometimes there are topics, like a long dead thread bumped back with no substantial new activity, that get old seeing them in the "recent activity" view.
