Nice job on the boathouse, its coming up better than I would have expected.
Thanks GeoffNice job on the boathouse, its coming up better than I would have expected.

Ha, how to tell me you’re Australian without telling me you’re AustralianI have a two year old grandson who is obsesses with the garbos as we call them. He would be very impressed with a nautical version.
Matt Black, Bedec barn paint.Nice paint on the boathouse. Black, indigo, deep charcoal. I can't decide. looks great. Very European. hehe.
I think the boat shed was originally coated in creasote, a loooonnngg time ago.Steve,
I like how you used the term
“we scraped and painted one side of the boathouse”
The job looks good so far. I’ve did my share of scraping and painting by myself and with help from others. Last time my brother and I scraped and painted the carport and front porch ceiling at my mother’s house, we got it finished in one long day. It would have takes me 4-5 days if I did it myself. As you know, scraping and sanding take most of the time so it looks good at the end.

Gave it away, did I? Can't say the term drongo is something you hear too often, more something from past generations. As for Croc Dundee, while Paul Hogan may be the quintessential Aussie, I think he's more of an American these days.Ha, how to tell me you’re Australian without telling me you’re Australian
Garbosalong with drongo and “that’s not a knife, this is a knife “
I do get a little obsessed about getting the bins out on time, so it seems I’m in great company.

Yeah, I think there’s a good chance we’re of similar vintage.Gave it away, did I? Can't say the term drongo is something you hear too often, more something from past generations. As for Croc Dundee, while Paul Hogan may be the quintessential Aussie, I think he's more of an American these days.
Back in the day when cars were cheap I had all sorts Mostly fords but also one ‘vette and then theSome very nice cars in those last couple of posts. As a Ford man I've always regarded it as a tragedy that Corvettes are a GM product. That blown Chev powered Willys is beautiful, while John Steed would be right at home in the Bentley.

No problem, my friendThank you for sharing the car show pictures!

Thanks RianGood to see the Pampas grass gone.
Horrible, pointless plants.
Years ago I bought a house (the one I sold when moved to England) and it had a bush that the root bundle or “stem” was at least half the size of a traditional Mini.
I guess whoever had planted it, had long since vacated the house or lost control of it.
Took me near two days to remove.
Leaves then stump.
Probably the worst part was splitting it into manageable pieces to manhandle onto my trailer.
Horrible things.
Well done.
Thanks Rian
Two days is about right, it was quite a struggle.
We’ve got the rubbish barge guys coming today take the last of the garden waste, then we should just be able to maintain it better and make it look like someone cares about the place
Will need two tons of earth to fill the hole the damn thing came out of though.
Now just need to find someone to deliver that.
We’ll be back there later today to carry on with a few things till Saturday
Cheers
Steve
