I found a Plano 3440 waterproof box at WalMart. It holds a set of 1/4 sockets and
Ratchets. I would like to have one a bit larger. I included both commonly used SAE and metric along with. Torx bit set. I would like to find one of the older metal boxes but this one is ok for a compact set. What are you using?

New 4" x 5" x 7/8" $14.50 from Cripe Distributing (always order from Cripe directly off their website to take advantage of discounts.)

USED (looks like New Britain) $15.00

USED (looks like New Britain) $15.00

USED S-K bleacher box $15.49

USED (odd one) $16.70 OBO

USED (3/8" drive set box) $18.19 OBO

Harry Epstein had a mess of little red boxes cheap but it looks like they've sold out.

I have some red steel boxes (NOS) with latch: 10.25" x 3.25" x 1.5", but because of shipping I have to charge you $25 bucks a pop.

USPS rates are such that any of the larger boxes (12 inches and longer) are now $23.00 just for shipping alone.

^ I was looking for the small red steel socket set box. They had a mess of them and must have sold out. Cheap. $10 bucks a pop, as I recall.
Costs me $12.00 to ship one now. Shipping just got nuts. I priced several of them out for @Outlawmws - and wasn't at all surprised by his hard pass.
I have found deals on ebay (like those NOS boxes above) by running a search for "steel box", but you have to enter a number of filters in the search string or you'll be all day long scrolling through everything "steel" or "box".

Bob,

Do all those dividers come out of that Plano box? I have a 1/4” set of deep and shallow sockets along with a ratchet, extensions etc. I’m trying to keep them on 2 rails for accountability. I like the 3 latch concept.
At least on my phone, these links don't work. Goes to some kind of "skim resources" link, and is a blank page.
The links show up on my phone. It’s a shame some of those listed can’t provide dimensions of the boxes.

I’m following this thread.

^ I am on a desktop. Generally speaking, most 1/4" drive U.S. made socket set boxes vary in length from about 7" x 2.5" x 1" up to just a wee bit larger.
The first two I linked to above would be about that size.
The S-K "bleacher" box is a bit narrower, but a bit taller (seller says 7" x 1" x 1.5")
the others show the dimensions in the ad text.

The box is one compartment. I believe it was meant to hold phones while boating. I have seen slightly larger cases but they had fixed dividers.

My set has only the most common sizes and a 10mm and 7/16 deep well. This is a bare bones set for quick jobs and a car set. Most of the sockets are Quinn or Husky. My Quinn ratchet was to long to fit inside.
