Yes, that's from the link affiliation service Ryan uses for the forum. The site you are linking to thinks its a bot/potential spam and has the traffic go through a verification

So now it's the Mystery Mercury  !

I *guess* that adds to the allure....
No way it will ever sell if I do not reveal my reserve! He must have failed to click on description!

I did install new gaskets in the engine compartment too. Idiot It will now start run and drive also. Can someone help with a complete verification? Entire 59 year history with 40 photo's and 1000 digit description. What did I intentionally leave out?

Nice this guy did a article but what a jerk

"It's hard to find something to hate on this Mercury, and the photos confirm that every person who owned this car babied it. It's unclear how original it continues to be, but I can't imagine someone out there would spend big bucks on this car without seeing it in person. A complete verification should help get the answers to all the questions that've been omitted in the eBay listing.

The selling price is as mysterious as possible, as the owner tries to sell the car at auction without revealing the value of the reserve. The bidding is underway, with the top offer recently surpassing $20K. However, with 10 bids and 14 people who added it to their watchlists, this Mercury has a hard time finding a new owner, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it failing to hit the reserve by the time the listing expire"

I would like to know how I can possibly do a 100% description with photo's when the max allowed is only 40?
I am writing a bit more in added description that just popped up on ebay.
He expects me to reveal my reserve? How does one do a complete verification and how do they come look if I cannot post my contact info? Been a really long time since I listed anything on ebay

All press is good press. That "article" won't turn anyone away, so don't give it a second thought

Wonder if that article was AI generated. If not, the author is a clueless douchebag.

I googled “bring a trailer scams“ and found several more stories just like this that convinced the seller to agree to remove or lower the reserve to a number that they were not comfortable with just to end up feeling like they were ripped off. I would definitely never consider bat for a selling service after all of this

Reading all this, i have to wonder what does BAT gain by interfering with an auction, especially one where it would stop bids from increasing, and ending the auction with a higher price. I have listed with BAT, they 100% tell you what the reserve should be, you can debate it a bit, but they dont move too much. But in the end you have the choice to accept it or not, and move on and not list it. I think its more likely the seller took their low reserve thinking there is no way it sells for that, when it did, he was shocked and wanted out of the sale. I own a 66 Cyclone, they are the red headed stepsister to the Fairlane, very unknown and not shown much love in most circles. While that car is exceptional, in the general market i dont see it selling for much over $50K, now it you found a Cyclone fan in the market, they might pay a premium, but then maybe $60K

Randy, what happened?

I admit I placed a bid knowing it was under the reserve but would have gladly pay what I bid for the car.

Hope all is well.

I'm inclined to agree, without knowing all the details. The reserve price, ad text, and terms and conditions were agreed to. If the reserve was a price you wouldn't accept, don't list the car.

Doesn't BaT get paid on a percentage of sale price or are they just a listing fee? If it's a percentage, why would they conspire to keep the price low?

This might be one of the nicest Comets on the planet, but it's only worth what one person will pay on one day.

This is the most logical and likely correct response.

It ***** the auction went low, but finding a Comet fan willing to shell out $70k+ is a very small target.

I sympathize with you Randy, and she’s a beaut.
