Millermatic 185 mig welder

Good morning all. I have a 1997 Millermatic 185 mig welder that won't fire. It has 4 amp settings and now (for some odd reason) I can't get it to fire off on any of the settings even when I strike the ground clamp. I mentioned this to a fellow welder and he said that a fuse (in the back of the welder) may have gone bad. I've looked at the manual (parts diagrams) and can't detect what he's calling a fuse. Has anyone experienced this before, how did you fix this situation and is it likely that my Miller retailer will have the part(s) to fix it being that it's 28 years old...tia.

There is no fuse on that.

Make sure your trigger switch in the gun is working. If it’s bad, the welder won’t energize. You can jumper the two trigger wires at the machine to test.
Verify good ground clamp contact. If the clamp or lead is corroded, you’ll get nothing.
Listen for the gas solenoid click when you pull the trigger, if that doesn’t happen, the control board isn’t seeing the trigger.

The wiring diagram does show a circuit breaker. Look on page 32 and 33 of the manual and it shows two of them ? Item 23 & 24

CB1 and CB2 are located inside wire feeder compartment.
Reset both to see if machine operates.
Solenoid clicks etc.

It does look like there are breakers on the unit, check to see if they are tripped

Everything was good so I took the amp dial out, cleaned it and all is good....thanks for the help.

Everything was good....just needed to c lean the contact points on the amp selector....thanks.

Make sure your trigger switch in the gun is working.

This is what hung up my ancient Lincoln Weld-Pak 155. A minute of cleaning the switch contacts solved it.
