Finished up the $5 Rail Anvil, sawed off the torched side, added (4) 5/8 mounting holes, cleaned up the torch cut hole that was in it, polished all 4 sides and finally added a coat of paint. Nice budget friendly 6-1/2” chunk, perfect for some cold work.

Very nice!

What did you use to saw it off so perfectly?

I have a rail road track section for a one day project to make two anvils.

More boat prep for the upcoming cooler weather.

Keel guard install:
1. Tape off
2. Scuff the surface
3. Clean with Isopropyl
4. Use Primer
5. Install keel guard

Who's keel guard did you go with? In the bass boat world, the "Hamby's" is the "one" but the better version, they sell 2, is only available through dealers for installation. Keel guard is on the list...

Working slow after an unscheduled appendix removal Wednesday night/ Thurs morning .. just some more glue up for the table project. This is leg 3 of 4. Depending on the final dimensions after another few passes through the planer or joiner I may add one more layer to keep the proportions appealing to the top dimensions. I don't want it top heavy or appear out of proportion.

Not in the garage but in front of the garage. On Friday I removed the old serpentine fan belt from my almost 100K mile 05 F150 to replace it. I also decided to replace the 3 idler pulleys & the belt tensioner due to mileage. Two of the old idler pulleys were starting to go bad as they were a little hard to spin, the third idler pulley spun fine & the tensioner was also good. Replaced them all & then called it a day since my back was starting to cry from leaning over the radiator support for a couple hours. Yesterday once the temp got to almost 60°, I went out to tackle the new serpentine belt install. My truck does not have the belt routing diagram sticker on it, so I printed one from the internet. It looked very complicated to do by the diagram, so I watched a couple videos on how the best way to do it & to my surprise it only took me about 15 - 20 minutes. Another job well done.

Hey y’all, I just wanted to hop on here and apologize for the recent posts about our products. My intention was never to spam the chat — I was just trying to get the word out about what we make. I’ll refrain from posting that way moving forward. Thanks for understanding, and I hope everyone has a great day!

I went with the Megaware KeelGuard. The decision was between the Megaware Keelguard and the Hamby, but I wasnt going to pay somebody else to do it. I read a lot of good things about the Megaware Keelguard, particularly with the new adhesive and primer, so I went with it.

It's a bass boat, and we often glide it on the sand banks to stand in the creeks to fish.

This was the rear hull area, just forward of the transomt. It's 30 years old....

Time to start using a little black book like I do for everything else on what I done to the fleet at such and such time.

musta only did the fronts in the spring As momma just started complaining about noisy brakes. rotors still in above average shape but less than 1/16“ on all 4 rear pads. Today is the fronts and oil change on her 05 CRV.127DA055-143E-4403-833A-5D77753465A7.jpeg

Best part about the move down was the versatility we now have for parking. Will only put her out in the daytime until I get a custom car cover made up for the bronco.

Had to troubleshoot a flicker in the house LEDs. Found a bad crimp on one of the connections.

Then I finished the inflatable power supply, followed by wiring up the 3 halloween inflatables.

The power supply is a 12v30a. I have dedicated 3a fuses on each inflatable in case something shorts. I have 12 outputs. Most of these inflatables barely draw half amp when running, so the ps should never even get warm.

Now I'm cleaning the shop again. I'm really trying to keep it clean now.

Cut like butter, surprisingly more difficult to polish. I’ve whacked it a few times sitting on my roll cabinet, very sound.

Steve
The bandsaw made cutting it look pretty easy. I'm working on giving it something of a horn and heel, and boy howdy, the 7 inch right angle grinder and cut off wheel took waaaaay longer to cut the parts that the bandsaw can't reach. Grinding after cutting is even more painfully slow. I'm thinking of trying to do the rest mostly with my POS mill-drill, but I don't like the idea of making that many tiny slivers in the garage where they could get in the dog's feet.

Yeah... So... The power supply creates more heat than I remembered, so I threw a 60mm exhaust fan on it. Unfortunately, the only one I have is a delta screamer and the box now sounds like a blow dryer.

I'll order a noctua to quiet it down.

Your PS uses the same enclosure I used for the controls on my Franken-drill press!

Replaced the radiator on my Cougar. Dumped all the 50/50 coolant I had into it, but it didn't fill it. I'm not going back into town today. So I turned off the lights and called it a day.

I may put my new fog lights on the van if I get a 2nd wind. We'll see.

Took down my bad oscillating fan and hung up a box fan my wife bought, she got it at CVS for like 75% off... I found a couple brackets I saved from something and bent them up and drilled some holes to attach them to the fan and to hang from. I mounted the brackets to the bottom of the fan, enlarged the screw holes that held the cover to the frame and ran bolts through the fan, cover and brackets and a lock washer and nut on the outside to hold it together. I hung the fan upside down so I could reach the on/off fan speed knob.

IMG_4320.jpg

It'll work for now but I would prefer an oscillating fan.

Did in fact get my second wind, and put on the new fog lights. I didn't take any pics of the finished job, but I did take a pic of one of the new lights next to one of the old water-logged ones, lol:

And while I was outside, Amazon rolls up with my new wipers. Or should I say "wiper"... I opened the box and there was only one wiper. I forgot to click "2" when I ordered it. Damnit. Oh well, I'll have to order another single.

Cut a few things out; two chain guards with a motorbike emblem inside for a repeat customer

20251005_122111.jpg

And a request for a dog sign for his old pooch he wishes to remember

20251005_132918.jpg

I'm not a sign guy at all, and this is the first one of the year but I'm happy with how it came out

20251005_134713.jpg

Drawing that took me some 2 weeks on and off whereas I did the chain guards earlier today within minutes lol

20251005_135436.jpg

Also been busy as we picked this girl up for foster

20251005_140406.jpg

I volunteer to foster dogs from time to time and I have to say, this one's definitely a real tough case

She's roughly 3, and has been a stray all her life

Doesn't even know how to acknowledge or act around people as even in the house she's super skiddish

Poor girl

@KwikFab Dog sign looks great held up to the blue sky

Thank you!

Used to be a thing I would do, cut something out and hold it to the sky.

If anyone is going to see any flaws, it'll show best when held up in the air.

I teach people the ins and outs of CNC in a group on Facebook (for free), so it helps for others to see that my work backs up what I share.

Being a skilled, quality fabricator is one thing, but an artist, too?

I'd say you got your money's worth out of those pads.

This little guy is my Louie. Best friend, by my side during day and in my arms every night. He went to heaven to be with Denise on June 5th (4 months today). He was 14 yrs old. That is his last picture.

Thanks, I'll have to research the brand you selected. The dealer install is what has kept it off the top of the to do list with the Hambys. Odd thing to have to pay someone to complete when I've certainly done more complicated boat tasks. Mine is a bass boat too, 2007 Triton 21X HP, so it's not new and everything is out of warranty. I do as I please with it for repairs and upgrades.
