#1 is an old woodworking vise. Early 1900s Sheldon rapid acting vise. Measure the opening to determine which one you have. The #3 and #4 physical jaw dimensions are the same, 3" x 7.5". The 3 opens to 8.5" the 4 opens to 9". A #5 has jaws that are 3.5" x 8" and opens to 12".

Nice rescue..
Indeed!
Nice rescue.
Get rid of those painted wooden pads, strip the aluminum paint ? from the cast iron parts, get it working smoothly, paint is satin black or maybe some black oil finish and display and/or use it proudly. Great back story to tell the admirers in your shop. You rescued it from a scrap yard.
One of my favorite vises in my collection is the one I found in a neighborhood dumpster. It’s an old Reed.

Thanks..after looking on Internet I see I am missing the table clamp for the float lock vise. I am a average machinist so I guess I'll try to make one this winter

Here's mine I rescued from a scrap pile at a garage sale! Seen a few drill presses go too far through material! Lol
