Work needs about 10 rebuilt. Our use is in a fully enclosed device. The new model batteries are about 1/16" too tall to fit, so new batteries are not an option for us.

I found MTO Battery online at $149 each plus shipping and tax, obviously.

Anyone got experience with them or want you recommend anywhere else as an option?

I know for certain they will do it...

I've had batteries Plus rebuild battery packs for me but I've never asked them about Milwaukee.... And it has been a while.

Have you tried the newer Milwaukee FORGE batteries. They are smaller than the ones you've pictured (which by the way are still available) but actually have more juice.

You might also check with Battery Rebuild Service or BigBatteryRepair, both will rebuild Milwaukee packs and let you choose between standard or high-discharge cells. Sometimes cheaper if you're doing multiple units at once.

Are you sure they do lithium batteries?

I used Batteries + to rebuild NiCads, and another regional place as well. The regional place wouldn’t rebuild Lithium batteries, though, although I never asked Batteries +, since I moved and they don’t have a local store.

Something about liability…

I have not used mto o, but when I looked at their website I thought I remembered seeing that they would redo lithium. I thought nobody this would rebuild a lithium cell because things were matched. I thought I'd read on their site this year that they did...

Okay so I just went out and checked and the answer is yes. Not all of them, but yes

I always thought they use standard size, spot weld 18650 cells?

The cells are standard, but there have been changes to the case they're packaged in, apparently. That's what matters if you're trying to fit a battery into a space that's not open on the non-contact side.

I was not aware of those. Any source info for these older ones?

I only use these very briefly at work, I'm not familiar with all the different versions and variations.

Forge batteries are the newest ones and came out late last year.
