I have this Craftsman 260 pieces Mechanics toolkit. I have sold the 3 raised panel ratchets that came with it and would like to purchase the 3 pcs CM Thin Profile racthet set as replacement.

The question is would the thin profiles fit into the ratchet slots of the plastic box. In as much as this is an off site tool kit for me then it would be good if I get ratchets that would fit the original slots in order to save space.

How about the CM Premium ratchets? Would these fit into the slots?

Thanks

Not sure, just take the empty tray with you to the store and see what fits.

**And now that I see you are in the Philippines, I guess you cannot just walk into a store"

For the thin profiles, the heads fit but the handles are a bit wide so they don't go down in the slot all the way. I don't have the box any longer so I don't know it they will fit in the box that way. You may have to dremel a bit.

you can just take a heat gun or hair dryer and heat up the box and form the ratchet to the box if they don't fir to great or if they fit close.

I suspected this too. I found this pic in one of the threads here in the forum and looks like the handles of the thin profile ratchets are wider.

Thank you guys for the replies.

I tried the Gearwrench Ratchet set but only the 1/4 drive fits. The others are longer.

Any suggestions on a good 3/8 & 1/2 drive ratchet the same length as the CM raised panels.

I just tested this for you, the trays close with the thin profile ratchets in the slots, they fit ok, the handles are just a little too wide so they barely stick up.. obviously not enough to keep the trays from closing though

Thank you very very much. This is exactly the info I needed. It's CM Thin Profile Set then for the replacement ratchets.
