Put down Epoxy-Coat

I just put down epoxy-coat in my garage. A little background and then I have a question.

I ran across it at Lowe's in and then did some research online (mostly here) and decided to go for it. I have a 2 car garage and then a separate 3rd car garage. I put it down in the 2 car first this past Tuesday which is just at 500 SF. I have not done the 3rd car yet, but I bought the kit for it.

I marked the garage off into 5 100 square foot sections. Everything went well for the first 3 sections. The only issue I had was the roller started to cure, but I luckily had some others on hand. For the last two sections I decided to do a double batch because it was going so well and it was getting late. I poured the hardener in up to the first target line on the stick-no problem. Now I go to pour the material in and it get no where close to the double batch target on the stick. I am short the material for a double batch, but now it is mixed with the hardener. I decide to move forward. I mix it and spread it out as best I can. It was a little thin in areas, but was good enough so I went ahead and put the chips down.

The problem is this area of the floor does not seems to be curing properly. The first three sections are hard as a rock. This section took longer to dry and now it seems softer than the rest of the floor. For example, if I scratch the surface with my finger nail on the first 3 sections there is nothing. On this section you actually see some scuffing. It is very faint (obviously just my fingernail), but this section is definitely not as hard as the rest of the floor. I was expecting this area of the floor to cure faster since the hardener to material ratio was so high. What's the deal-is it going cure properly? If not can I just scuff it up and put a new coat on this section? I will have extra material from the second kit when I do the 3rd car garage.

Feedback for epoxy coat - lose the stick method and just provide some plastic measuring buckets or just provide the amounts for the 100 sf sections and I will buy my own buckets.

I hate to tell you this but it appears to be a problem that you caused. If you used the same bucket each time to measure for your mix, you will have some residue left in the bucket that will affect your mix ratio.

Every new batch should be mixed in a new bucket. Good luck with the soft cure and maybe the rugerlady will chime in and offer a suggestion or two.

I thought I was suppose to use the 6 gallon bucket that came with the kit. i did a good job of getting all the material out each time. There was some residue in the bottom, but not a lot. Regardless they have you pour in the hardener first then the material and I was short on the material. Not sure how any residue in the bottom would cause that.

This is the closest thing I see to a part #. This is the # on the barcode sticker: 15720 00002. I have the high gloss taupe with beige blend.
