Ridgid Shop Vac Replacement Hose?

About 25 years ago, I bought a Ridgid Shop Vac. It still functions perfectly but the hose is worn out, starting to collapse from the suction in places. Unfortunately I can't find a replacement hose. They sell a 2 1/2" hose that says it fits all Ridgid shop vacs but it most definitely does not. Since 2-1/2" appears to refer to the overall outside dimension of the new hose, mine must be a 2-7/8" hose. I guess instead of just engineering the vacuum motor to wear out, they must change the size slightly every few years to make you buy a new vacuum when the hose breaks. I still have the little booklet that came with it and the replacement hose part #826356-1 is obsolete. My old one is considerably larger than the hoses that come with today's shop vacs. I like it because it fits my gutter cleaning rig (no ladder climbing) and works great at sucking leaves and even the twigs and Catalpa beans seem to make it through without clogging. I'm thinking that even if I 3D printed an adapter to fit the new 2-1/2" hose, that it wouldn't work as good as the bigger hose always has. Anybody know where to get a replacement 2-7/8" vacuum hose for a 25 year old Ridgid shop vac or even a generic shop vacuum hose that diameter?

In my very limited knowledge HD carries Rigid. Ace has shopvac. Hoses are not interchangeable.

To clarify- you purchased a modern Rigid 2 1/2" hose from HD and it didn't fit your older model?

I would be surprised if they changed that dimeter fitting since late 90s/early 00s
It's basically a universal fit at this point?

They do however make a smaller diameter hose that is becoming more popular. I would def double check.

Also if you find the hose do fit absolutley upgrade to the Pro model, longer and way more flexible. Worth every dollar

If your hose is 2.875 od, that seems really big. I don't think I've seen anything that big until you get to 3" but it fits over a 3" fitting so that's probably not it.

Last replacement hose I bought from Home Depot had several hose ends or adapters with it. Had to find the one that worked and shove the hose onto it.

I have now switched to the 1 7/8 hose currently. The 2 1/2 was just too bulky for my needs.

Yes I bought the 2-1/2" replacement hose they sell at HD now to try it. It comes with a few adapters, but they're all way too small and the hose itself is just much smaller diameter so I suspect its not going to handle the gutter cleaning job as well. I'll take it back for a refund if I find another solution. Grainger is the only thing that comes up on a google search for that size, but the description says its only one foot long and even if that's a mistake, it shows its out of stock.

Thanks for the link. I've emailed them to ask for a measurement to compare so that I don't have to risk asking for a refund if it doesn't fit.
