Didn't really find any photos when I thought up this idea so thought I'd share. I've always used the kreg hidden hinge boring tool when converting old cabinets on the job to hidden hinges, I hated the thing. For small jobs under 10 holes it's good, but I have to clamp both sides of the jig and reposition it with every hole. May not have been a problem if I wasn't used to the speed of doing so in my shop on the drillpress. But it's time consuming wrapping door fronts and bringing them back and fourth just to drill holes. Now if we are refinishing them then yes lugging them to the shop is the best way. Anyways years ago I bought a cheap PC BT drill press for the tool trailer... It was terrible and would stall with just a half inch forstner chucked up, so I brought it upnorth and still have never used it. This time I got to thinking, so I bought some old iron delta home lite which I believe to be the lighter more hobby grade bench top. Made a customer receiver mount as I don't have room in the tool truck and slapped her in the bumper. Now after I make a custom table with a fence and flip stops I should crank out all 44 door fronts in no time. I should note this is a unusual job as we are not refinishing these door front so extra care is needed to insure we do not damage them. We are also not driving around with this attach on the front or back lol, although it would be a sight to see down the freeway.

I did take the unit down and give it a good cleaning and new paint since it was apart.I also added a new mag switch because it's mobile I don't want to plug it in and it be on. I'm into this project about $100.00 bucks and have spent two afternoons doing it so not a terrible waste should it not be used much again

What a great idea. I thought I had a good idea putting the equivalent 2 inch receivers flush several places in my shop floor to move vices and grinders around and to serve as anchor points. But your idea opens up a whole vista of new possibilities.

I've stuck stuff in the receiver hitch. I have a bead breaker in one of them now, for example. Pretty convenient when you need it. I also used to use receiver tubes on a could pedestals when I had less bench space to mount stuff. Drill press, bench grinder, belt sander were all interchangeable. Good idea, if I do say so myself

Putting receivers around the shop would be neat, pop in a tool you need and go to town. I have a tubing bender and a pedestal bender that have to be mounted to the shop floor to work, I just don't know where I want them for that kinda commitment but that may work for me.

Bead breaker... That's smart. I have a black stone attachment I fab years ago we use all the time, and a finishing pole holder.

So I finished the table, it's a little big but it will go back and forth between this and my walker turner, that I still have to refurb. I kept the t track the same width as my beloved dp600 so the fences can be shared. I still have to rip the fence down and add a t track with flip stops but for the most part this project is done. My guys think it's great just a little heavy lol.

Does it wobble to bad? I made a vice mount, I had to weld up the corners of the tubing to make it a tighter fit

Not at all it's pretty solid even did the dad shake "yep it isn't going anywhere". That is with the pin installed so that could have something to do with it.

Well... Finally got to use the setup. Worked great. Could be taller but the offset would only add to the weight. Guys were able to finish the hidden hinge conversion for the whole house before lunch. One on disassembly, one boring holes, and one on assembly. Definitely worth the effort for us.
