Story of the paint
Wilkinsons, A shop that now only exists online and as a brand in another’s stock as far as I know, was selling off cans of paint. Maybe8-10 years ago.
All the weird colours nobody else had bought or wanted.
Of course its a dead heat between me loving a bargain at £1.50/can and quirky unloved colours that are perfect for two occasions….. when you need any random paint to cover a surface or when your demented genius sees an opportunity to score a few crazy points.
With the cheap £10.00 mower, that now has at least 6 solid hours of my time and materials in it and clearly has cost more, but isn’t worth any more than before, I had one final thought.
Buy some stickers online and apply them to make it go faster.
Till I realised that I could possibly copy the online designs using more of the same, matched colours.
So I created a bit more madness.

Here is an example. I am a sucker for any tool made in USA and unfortunately the modern list of **** tools is pretty dismal.
So, some years back I bought an old made in USA Milwaukee Hammer Drill for $5 in garage sale! The challenge that I gave myself was to keep the cost of refurbishing to less than $5
The drill would randomly function. After rewiring, including an extension cord (at zero cost as I had these leftover from other projects) the drill worked like a champ.
I also painted and published the drill casing. Again I had the leftover paint already, so there was no cost.
The drill was missing the side handle. I found one on eBay for $16 but that would violate the challenge.
So I used a piece of aluminum rod (after cutting it to length and threading it) in conjunction with a $2 bicycle handle grip to make the side handle. Since the original side handle had a guard, I used the center of an old blank CD case to make a similar guard. Cost of the project $7, self satisfaction priceless!
