HF Parts Washer Punp

What is everyone replacing the pump in the harbor freight parts washer with? I think mine stopped working the 3rd time I used it lol.

I don’t know…I’m four years into mine and it works just fine running PSC1000.

I figure when it does go, I’ll just replace it with the same thing.

You know HF can get a replacement pump for you? They have an 800 number to call.
FWIW- my small 2 1/2 gallon bench top is still on it's original pump and it's 30 yrs old.

Mine died many years ago.

I have a Menards Tool shop brand replacement waiting to be installed. The Menards tank is the same as my HF, so it should drop in. I don’t like that small tank, though as it’s quite messy to use.

I got this Beckett GP210v pump for mine. Pricy, but seems bulletproof.

If you are using kerosene, mineral spirits.... and not a water based solution the cheap pumps typically don't last; you need one that's rated for solvents like the above.

I’ve heard this, and my HF plainly states to use water based cleaners only. I’ve only ever used PSC1000 or house brand Stoddards solvent since the day I bought it three, maybe it’s been four years ago.
Pump has never missed a beat.


Pump will probably die this afternoon now.

I've been using a cheap 12v fuel pump. The pulse kind for carbed cars. Handles kerosene just fine.

I have thought about doing this as well. I think I have a power supply from an old PC that would probably power the pump

I went overboard with mine before it died and put one of these in:

The washer is mounted on a furniture dolly with a plastic tote full of solvent mounted below, I cut a hole in the bottom of the tank and installed a kitchen sink drain and strainer to allow back to the tote. I should have bought a lower gpm pump, the one I got has 1" fittings that I reduced down to 1/2 and when the hose gets to the tank I have three outlets, two just run wild and one with a flowing brush; all three have to be open to keep the pressure down. And it's loud, not to the point I use ear plugs, but loud enough the wife won't come in the shop. She won't come in with the air compressor running either. I use the AC and the parts washer a lot. Even when I don't need them.

Curious what you are using to run the pump?

A small 3amp power supply. Turn it on and use the factory switch to power pump. The intake ***** through a generic fuel filter.

So I am rebuilding my HF parts washer and decided to go with a 12V fuel pump. Thinking the one below. Has anyone used this one or one like it? Thoughts?
