In the vise world there is a saying, your vise your color. With this color scheme, this baby will for sure stand out.
BTW, you should not be surprised if the astronauts onboard the space station wave at you while driving it.![]()
I'm in the camp of your property, your color. For me, that color doesn't work with that car. For my dad's 1936 Ford 5 window coupe hot rod, it would. If I wanted it green I would probably go more toward 2004 Ford expedition green.
After the new paint job you could enter the Olds into a demolition derby!

I guess I'm in the minority, but I love the green.

Well, putting the two recent subject matters , namely the color and girth, together, here is the best course of action. Paint the car black! I hear black makes girth look thinner, and therefore the car should fit through your driveway easily !One of the important deal breakers was the girth of the car.
Just go for it!Just going to leave this here.
So I do agree with your car your colour, I also agree with it may never sell again with the wrong painjob…but it’s you shytbox so have fun right!
My brother had painted a very bright Big Bad Green Datsun 510 many years ago, was a polarizing choice inspired by our Uncles choice of that colour on a Turbo’d Lotus Cortina he built back in the 70s for road racing.

If you don't like it when painted I'm sure it can always be changed again with a bit more time and money.
That said, upload the picture to Google Gemini (AI) for example, and ask it to change the colour to that green - or any other colours buzzing around your head... You'd be surprised at how well - and quickly - it can provide you with a mock up without touching the paint can.
I had my first foray into AI doing something similar at the weekend (seeing how a survivor would look restored) and I was a pretty impressed..

4- Some steel tie wire - Cable/zip Ties ?

I’m sure it will happen.

PS There may be a cryptic clue in one of the photos, as to me probably doing a 1000 mile detour before going home.
My first guess is that it has to do something with the two tone metallic painting, eg get help from an experienced friend to paint it or learn the best technique?? Not the 1000 miler, YouTube school works well.
Getting your hands onsomeHazyCrazy Janebeeris my Correct guess. But that is hell of a distance to get somebeer.
So you are trying to get your hands on a “cat” named Jane, as a mate for George![]()
. That is still hell of a long distance to get a “cat” and you know what they say about long distance relationships. Unless the “cat” is coming home with you
!
Rian I don’t always have much to say but have thoroughly enjoyed your adventures for several years now, all the best this Holiday season!Thank you and everyone else who posts on here for friendship and quiet warning behind the scenes when I lose the plot.
The John Deere car.
I have a customer that just had his bike painted in a John Deere theme, not sure why as he's not a farmer but it's his bike and if it makes him happy good for him.The John Deere car.
